What are those banners or google ads on these sites? Do you just sell them to Google and they can put whatever they want on there?
I’ve seen ads for bizarre stuff that flies in the face of the purpose of the particular website.

We work with various ad networks that serve banners to the site. Some of them make sense for the content provided (or at least for that demographic), while other banners don't make much sense. In the case of these concerts, I'm sure these ads are appearing all over the internet, so I don't think the content of the site is taken into account. Clearly, though, our readers have little interest in these concerts.
