Bad things happen in a fallen and cursed earth.

What you’re referring to is they natural by-product of sin, which God allows to occur - because this world is fallen and cursed. That these things are allowed to happen does not mean God approves of them. He is executing justice - since the wages of sin is death.

He brought the Chaldeans and the Babylonians to pillage Israel and Judah as a chastisement to people who were not obedient. He turns the hearts of kings to do his will. He hardens hearts, as well as softens them. He brings blessings as well as punishments. “I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the LORD, who does all these things.” - Isaiah 45:7. Daniel 4:17 shows us that in his sovereignty, he even appoints “the basest of men” as rulers over nations.

By all means feel free to read the links I’ve posted, there are dozens and dozens of scripture verses to back up the doctrine, not just one or two.

Babies don’t.

You are attributing something unfactual to God out of your own false beliefs.

Better to attribute to God what He has attributed to Himself, out of true beliefs.

I suggest you read the Gospel of John.

How do you know what God chooses to do? I believe our concept of right and wrong, does not apply to God.

Absolutely, but what about people in other countries? I would think the mark wouldn’t just apply to Americans that have to work.

Wow. Well, come to think of it, I’m not sure I automatically received one either. I thought I’ve had my number pretty much since being born, but will have to ask my parents... So, is a number issued in the hospital now??

I do not believe we can do anything other than what He designs us to do.

If God has, essentially, mapped out the whole universe and all of our actions, and knows how everything will end, then what is the point? Why did He bother?

I think God set things into motion, He knows what will ultimately happen, but that we still have choices. Our choice to come to Him or not IS the point, IMO.

I think hell is just all around us. Here, in this old, dying universe. At the end of human history, people will simply be separated, and thsoe that shose to move on and live with God will do so, everyone else will stay here. To stay here means to be setroyed when this universe is destroyed. The Bible teaches that in Jesus, all things “stand together”, or “cohere”. Jesus is behind the strong nuclear force, that binds the nucleus of every atom. Being like charges, the protons in every nucleus want to fly apart and repel, but this mysterious force binds them together. I would submit that Jesus’ will alone does this in some way.

So, the Bible also says that one day, Jesus will release His hold on the universe, and everything will burn up in (nuclear) fire, and the elements will melt and the universe will vanish with a great noise. It will collpase, and everyone left here will have to experience that

Actually, I got mine when my mom died, when I was 13. I don’t know if that had something to do with payments.....

My children had to have one during the first income tax return year...

The Mark of the Beast is metaphor! Metaphor! That’s what Captain Picard said in that horrible episode of TNG.
