Two California congressmen, one of whom introduced legislation this year calling for a congressional pardon for two U.S. Border Patrol agents, say that if President Bush can commute the sentence of former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, he can order pardons for the agents.
"If the president of the United States is going to commute the sentence of Scooter Libby, he should immediately accompany that with a pardon for Border Patrol agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos," said Rep. Duncan Hunter, California Republican and 2008 presidential candidate.
"If Scooter Libby is going to receive this treatment, and there very well could be a compelling reason for the president's actions, agents Compean and Ramos should then be provided a full pardon," said Mr. Hunter, whose bill has 100 co-sponsors. "Mr. President, pardon our Border Patrolmen."
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, California Republican, said Libby was convicted of obstructing the investigation of a crime, "yet no one has been charged with a crime" in the case. However, Mr. Rohrabacher said, while Mr. Bush rightly showed mercy to Libby, he "does not seem to have the same mercy for the average men and women holding the front lines of our borders.

TexasCajun’s characterization is entirely accurate. Please tell what you know that differs.
You’re right, Tank slipped my mind. I suppose I had the Big 4 in mind when I wrote that. The “top tier” if you will. I know some of them have gone all out for Scooter.
The only person who claims Aldrete-Davila was unarmed is (surprise) Aldrete-Davila. Even his family members have testified that he never ran drugs without a gun.
Contrary to whatr Suttonifong tries to tell us, ballistics showed that the bullet in the smuggler didn't match the guns of Ramos or Compean, which I suspect your pal Sutton knew. And the angle of entry is consistent with a person or vehicle coming at them, not running away. It hit his shoulder, not his back as we have been told. Furthermore, a couple of Border Patrol agents who were on the scene stated publicly that Ramos and Compean told them all about the shooting at the time it happened, contrary to what Sutton claims. These are facts, not someone's opinion.
Why was Davila-Aldrete's second drug smuggling case concealed form the jury? Maybe because Sutton was afraid that it might damage his pet witness's "credibility"? (He was smuggling 743 pounds of marijuana BTW.)
Pres. Bush, had better pardon the border agents. From what I heard and read, the agents should not have ben indicted and jailed, at all. Anyway.
And also Hispanic, just like Ramos and Compean.
It was never proven that the scum-bag drug dealer wasn't armed. He fled across the border and we will never know what he had in his hand when he turned back toward them as he was running away (which is the position that is consistent with the angle of the wound he recieved) because he is obviously going to claim that he was unarmed.
As for the report, nine other officers showed up on the scene including two supervisors who assisted in policing the brass and per regulations they made their verbal report (which was all that was required at that time) directly to the supervisors on site!,
The prosecutor, Sutton, dodged direct questions regarding this on an interview on the Glenn Beck show.
There seems to be more than enough evidence to provide reasonable doubt, but Sutton has been relentless in prosecuting our agents, rather than drug runners.
wideawake said; ...”Davila was a DEA informant involved in House of Slaughter murders.
I’m not sure why that gives Ramos and Compean carte blanche to break the law and then lie about it.
Thanks to their lawlessness, Davila is now scot free and cannot be prosecuted. If they had done their jobs, Davila might be in prison today.”
My say; Are you saying that Ramos and Compean were supposed to know that Davila was a DEA informant? As to falsifying paperwork, hey. Your life is in danger every day and every second and the so-called Authorities keep letting the perps go free? Old story. Ask any cop on the beat or in the patrol car.
Tells you everything you need to know about Suttonifong.
Which fellow Border Partol agents said they didn't do,. as Suttonifong knows. But hey, why let that stop the prosecution of two Hispanics for doing their job?
Is every single congress Critter or Senator on the take?
NO
But enough are that will keep the whole border situation a Chinese Fire Drill. Plus these crooks are always ready for a vote for a deal on a project in somebody's home district.
The profits are just unimaginable, an agency adjoining my employer's jurisdiction stumbled onto to a case where the dealers were packing money for return to Mexico.
The smoke from the burning ten's and twenties caused a passerby to call the fire department.
Yes, it is, and everyone knows Scooter Libby didn't do that. He had a memory lapse, but the judge wouldn't allow his lawyers to call memory experts to testify about that, even though Fitznifong was allowed to rant about how the war is evil. Libby was essentially convicted of the crime of still supporting the war in Iraq.
Agreed.
Ramos and Compean actually committed crimes.
Yeah they committed the crime of actually enforcing the border.
The two cases aren't the same.
Right. Libby never got on the wrong side of the Mexican President.
Stop it! Facts like that are inconvenient to the open-borders crowd and the message they want to send Border Patrol agents: do not do your job. You can't say things like that in America. It's not PC.
I take it you were there.
Were you assisting Davila in smuggling drugs?
Good graphics!!
No, no, no. This wanna-be NAU president cavorts with criminals and favors them above U.S. citizens. Imprisoned Marines and Border Patrol? Bush will never stand up for them and for what is right; it might upset his globalist masters.
I’m refraining from saying what I’m feeling and thinking at this moment...I’m censoring myself.
Good idea *placing gag in mouth*
totally. otherwise, *curtains*

(*another “CT” or something more sinister could occur* ? : )
