There was a time when Ann Coulter would have made my heart stop, the combination of brains and beauty, but those days are long gone.
She made her name, in effect, being the anti-Maureen Dowd, countering progressive childishness with an adult view of the world and politics. However, Ann, to me, hasn’t decided when to stop being the anti-Maureen Dowd. As ‘liberals’ like Dowd have become increasingly shrill and disconnected, so has Ann. SHe has a “shtick:” now, and can’t stop it. She has made a career of basically trumpeting the opposite view of her ideological enemies with the same piecing howl they use, matching them decibel for decibel, outrageous statement for outrageous statement.
I have a serious issue with Ann’s idea of conquering and coverting the Middle East, if only because it’s a distraction from the true remedy to Islamic terrorism; killing them and making them suffer until they are broken wretches incapable of having a thought that goes beyond ‘how do I fill my aching belly today?’ and ‘I wonder when the smart bomb finds me? When people are hungry, fearful and suffering, they dont have the time or inclination to plot terror attacks.
Eventually, we’ll get lucky and they’ll come to us begging to be dragged into the 21st century.
As for Ann’s remarks about Edwards, yeah, he’s a friggin’ jerk, but you know that any sort of statement like she made only garners him sympathy in the end, and if there’s anything John Edwards loves, it’s sympathy; he rode it to a successful career in fleecing the medical insurance system, and then he cashed it in for a Senate seat. I don’t think anyone who watched John and Elizabeth Edwards in the last Presidential campaign and in this latest announcement of her returning cancer (if they had the same sense a brain damaged golden retreiver has) already knows what a bastard the man is. They don’t need Ann to tell them.
When all is said and done, the only thing this non-entity will be remembered for is saying “Lesbian” eight times to Dick Cheney on national TV...and surviving the ordeal. Don’t give anyone a reaosn to remember that he’s alive.
Tone it down a bit, Sweetie, and go back to what you do best: making a clear and concise case for your philosophy and doing it in an educational and entertaining way.
Kind words from the inclusive Left...
All anti-Coulter posts are from liberal plants.
Every time Ann’s name is mentioned, another angel gets his wings!
Yeah, that’s RI-I-I-I-I-GHT!
Ann is what’s wrong with political punditry and commentary today.
These people lose all credibility. At least conservatives are capable of admitting what we do. Even Ann herself.
Liberal (mainstream media) writing seems to consist almost entirely of personal attacks and distortions of people with good, honest ideas of their own.
All these guys/gals seem to plagiarize their ideas from the same Democratic Underground rant of the day.
What happened to the good ol’ days when they all plagiarized the lead editorial from the New York Times?
Mizzzz Peebles uses name-calling to condemn Anne Coulter for calling people names.
No, $400.00 haircuts on a politician who hides behind his cancer-stricken wife's apron strings makes a mockery of politics.
I can not wait until Peeps next column. I understand it is a dissertation on What is a hissyfit?
I’m not certain how to take that. My point was not that Ann Coulter was not credible or not right in (many of)her assertions, only that the act has gotten old and that she in danger of becoming that which she professes to detest.
Yea, but I’m pretty sure Ann wasn’t kidding.
As if Cindy Sheehan, Bill Maher, Keith Olbermann, Rosie O’Donnell, Michael Moore, Al Gore Jr., Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Lyndon LaRouche, Howard Dean, and the Fat Vichy Chick don’t make a mockey of politics.
Not really.
Rush delivered the Senate to the Dems, and Coulter is capable of delivering to them the presidency.
You may like what you hear from Coulter, but the vast majority do not.
Time to elevate the dialog.
Rush delivered the Senate to the Dems?
What of the “Culture of Corruption” and Foleygate? DeLaygate? and Fristgate?
Doesn’t matter that the charges were hollow, the public ate it up.
“You may like what you hear from Coulter, but the vast majority do not.”
What is your evidence for this statement? Particularly the “vast” part.
Imagine this:
Ann Coulter, Press Secretary to the (next) President
The Middle East will never enter the 21st century until they recognize and respect the notion of a freedom of religion. To do so would mean tossing out the concept of “muslim lands”.
It will not happen peacefully but you can bet that some so called muslims are practitioners only because their lives depend on professing the faith.
The Islamic supremacist mindset must be put to rest.
