The ESPN commentary was hilarious.....
"The greatest moment in American sports history."
"There's Washington, Lincoln, and now Joey Chestnut -- an american hero."

Yup....and then there was that slight....um....”reversal”.....at the end.....next time I get the stomach flu, I think I’ll call it a reversal instead.

I think he lied about the tooth extraction/jaw pain to psyche out the compition.

Was the young Japanese guy in there this year? We heard he might not be competing.

At roughly 320 calories per dog + bun, Joey ate 21,120 calories in that 12 minutes.

Young Kobyashi lost....long live the IFOCE (International Federation of Competitive Eating) and the Shea boys.
To: Plains Drifter
Yes... he came in second with 63 dogs, but he blew it at the end and could have been DQ’d.

In my younger days, I was proud that I could knock out an 8-pack of Ball-Parks in one sitting....with chili.
I wonder if they hurl for a day or two following the competition?

We win a championship and all the media wants to talk about is “pardons”:’)

The IFOCE website is full of all kinds of interesting information on competitive eating.

GOD BLESS AMERICA.
I’m eagerly anticipating the creation of a fantasy league.

Yeah that ESPN broadcast had "Best in Show" written all over it... Hilarious!
When Kobayashi spit his hot dog up the announcer said "that was off-putting".
To: over3Owithabrain
Perhaps this will vault Chestnut into the number 1 ranking......

Kobayashi had been ranked number 1....and Nathan's has to be the "Masters of Competitive Eating" events.
