“JFK stood up to Kurschiev; backed him down”
JFK backed down at Bay fo Pigs, in summits and when berlin wall went up. his failures to stand up then created the cuban missile crisis, because the USSR thought they could push him around. Similarly, we saw thatin 1979 with USSR afghanistan invasion and in 1950 when south korea was attacked: We project weakness and they tried to exploit it. and a consequence of the ‘deal’ after cuban missile crisis was to allow a soviet satellite 90 miles from our shore, a situation that continued until the USSR fell apart.
IMHO, the Cuban Missile Crisis is an example of why JFK was NOT a good President.
“and plotted to OFF Fidel.” Plotted? Well, he failed. Another reason from democrats to love him.

What is even more funnier than this “poll” are the reponses on this thread.
To: finnman69
Jimmy Carter higher than Millard Fillmore??? Bull. Must be some lib BS poll with fancy language designed to obfuscate the truth....as usual.
To: WOSG
All I am saying is in the demon666rat list of presidents, JFK was a superstar. But by historical standards your right.

Your point is well taken. Remember, most Southerners didn’t vote for either of these guys.

Not Warren Harding. Warren did however make the mistake of populating his cabinet with nefarious cronies from Ohio and [they are the ones that gave taint to his administration. "My God, this is a hell of a job!" Harding said. "I have no trouble with my enemies, but my damn friends, my God-damned friends... they're the ones that keep me walking the floor nights!"

Oh, my. Bush the Younger may go down in history tied for favorable ratings with — dig it — Warren G Harding.

Good to see kind words for Harding. I agree with you both.
When his funeral train passed through parts of the country, people turned out trackside to mourn him in large numbers.
Harding, however, had as much luck keeping his legacy in his pants and Clinton does.

Poll taken in the confines of the DNC building.
To: finnman69
Any poll showing Clinton and Carter more favored than Bush is not one I would lend any weight to.

Hey, Kennedy did cut taxes, and despite botching the Bay of Pigs and letting the Soviets pull the wool over his eyes, he did get them to remove the missiles at a moment when nuclear war seemed inevitable.... for that, he deserves some credit...

I would rate Filmore bad because he had a silly name. I think thats what most of America thinks.
And they think Grant was good because he was a booze drinking General. He was a lousy President. The only good that came from the Grant Administration is Jim West, of the Wild, Wild West.

You could vote for him two more times in Texas when he ran for Gov.
