From France : Happy Independance Day to All Americains
My blog ^ | 07 04 2007 | drzz

Oh, say can you see, By the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hailed At the twilight's last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars, Thru the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched Were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets red glare, The bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night That our flag was still there. O, say, does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave O'er the land of the free And the home of the brave?

Thank you.

My father, God bless his soul, who fought in France in WWI under General “Black Jack” Pershing would have really appreciated your post.

You’re welcome.

I spent my childhood in Normandy where American soldiers fought bravely.

That’s probably why I’m certainly the most pro-american guy of Western Europe. My brother, an American history buff as well, has written a book about the battle of the Little Big Horn.

And check the video I made to show my support of the US :

I know a French professor who is a close friend of David Horowitz (Frontpagemag) and he helped my blog to grow.

The “blog drzz” is today a sort of Free Republic for France.

It’s nice to know there are still a few people in France who know their history.

Hennity interviewed the “man in the street” this week and ask them questions about July 4th.

A school teacher in Miami did know that July 4th was Independence Day but did not know from whom we won our independence, She thought the war for American independence was called World War I, or maybe II. Another interviewee thought and that Washington wrote the Declaration of Independence and that we won our independence from “people over the water.”

Sad.

Actually, as I wrote before, my brother wrote a book about the battle of the Little Big Horn between Custer and Sitting Bull in Montana (1876)

I myself spent my childhood in Normandy, learning about WWII.

And when I went to the US, I spent days in Civil War battlefields (Gettysburg PA, Antietam MD, Bull Run VA, Harpers Ferry VA)

And I went to Texas last year, seeing the Alamo.

Americans are crazy to think you have not enough history. Your history is great.

And now YOU are making history.

I lived overseas for 9 years, including 4 in Germany. I have traveled to France on several occasions and love France. I have had several discussions with French people about our common history and how we have fought on the side of freedom so many times.
A French friend of mine explained that French people find Parisian waiters rude. I think the French still view the Anglo-Saxon (British, American, etc) cultural and political power in the World as something of a threat to France.

Well, I’m not sure France’s help was for freedom and the creation of a country of the poorest of the world...

The goals of the French by helping the American minutemen was to... embarass the British...

It was a fight between two kings. And not a fight of liberty against tyranny.

And don’t forget that France sent troops in Mexico in 1863 and supported the South during the CW to destroy a country which became too big : yours.

IF YOU DON’T STAND BEHIND OUR TROOPS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO STAND IN FRONT OF THEM

Love it. I immediately go give it to the pussies of the TIME MAG.

Whatever the reason, we wouldn't have made it. Certainly the hand of God was involved in events from the Declaration to Yorktown.

Well, I'm from the South, so thanks again!...:-)

Thank you. Euro trashing is common place as a sport, I engage in it myself, but...I keep in mind that there ARE people who don’t hate us, think we are trying to do the right thing and give us the benefit of the doubt when we make mistakes.

We just don’t hear it much, and it was nice to hear you say it.

Thanks!
