George Orwell struggled mightily all of his tortured, sickly 48 years to show us what we were capable of doing to ourselves and the myriad forms of denial we were vulnerable to: it is a pity to think that this is the country he was born in and lived in, and wrote about, and that people like Gordon and “Jacqui” are now important figures at the helm. Utterly pathetic. I thought things might straighten out in England, but the leadership is now serving as useful idiots for people like George Galloway.
That is what I’m counting on!The heartland is not going to roll over. I’ve only skimmed the posts but I hope I’m replying accurately.
It’s bad, from where I’ve lived and now live, but I have no doubt that when it matters, this country will never allow Islam to succeed here. The heartland won’t stand for it. Big cities, suburbs, certain regions are so PC and leftist, but most of America is the little towns and it’s those people who won’t roll over.

I’ve been in numerous conversations where I’ve been scolded for being *too harsh* and *close minded* because I spoke the truth without the touchy feely stuff. It happens with friends and even in my own home with family. Facts, content, matter less than making it nice and putting a bow on it. Emotions, feelings trump arguments based on facts.

I would like to know what they British Brits (as opposed to the Asian Brits) are saying amongst themselves about the Pcadilly-Glasgow plot and the “Muslim problem” in general?

I’d like to know what they are saying too. My husband spent a lot of time in England and Scotland, especially Scotland when he worked for DOD. We always hear how much the rest of the world hates Americans, even the Brits and Scots, but he claims that’s not the case at all. So, with the recent attacks in London and Glasgow, he’s confident that they aren’t blinded by what’s happening in their countries. That’s just his opinion, based on those he spent time with, etc. My brother was in England and Ireland (visiting family in Ireland) during 9-11 and the first couple of weeks after we entered Afghanistan. He said the people he spent time with/met were aware of the “Muslim problem” - like my husband, he claims the Brits, Scottish, Irish pretty much reflect our views despite what gets portrayed in the media.
I’d like to know what the British people, rather than their government and media, think about all of this, too.
He's right! It's PC and it's total insanity. I guess every time we turn on TV and see the little Koranimals gathered together screaming "death to America, death to Israel, death to the infidels" it's just our imagination! They must not be Muslims!
