CAIR Views Conservative Commentary As 'Incitement' By Susan Jones CNSNews.com Senior Editor July 03, 2007
(CNSNews.com) - An Islamic advocacy group is urging its supporters to call a Washington, D.C., radio station to "express your concerns about the Islamophobic attitudes" expressed by conservative columnist and author Cal Thomas.
In a commentary on news-talk WTOP radio Monday morning, Thomas discussed the car-bomb terror attacks recently thwarted in the United Kingdom. The eight Muslims arrested in connection with the plot include several physicians.
"How much longer should we allow people from certain lands, with certain beliefs to come to Britain and America and build their mosques, teach hate, and plot to kill us?" Thomas asked.
He also compared Muslims to a "slow spreading cancer" that must be stopped.
In its message to supporters, the Council on American-Islamic Relations described Thomas''s remarks as "incitement." The message included the name and work telephone number of WTOP's vice president of programming.
In recent years, CAIR has issued a number of "incitement watches" which CAIR''s critics view as efforts to squelch free speech.
On Tuesday, July 17, CAIR plans to host a panel discussion in Washington on "the increasing anti-Muslim rhetoric within the conservative movement in the United States."
The panelists will include David Keene, chairman of the American Conservative Union, and Parvez Ahmed, CAIR chairman.
The discussion will focus "on the negative impact of [anti-Muslim] views on religious tolerance in America and on relations with the Muslim world," CAIR said.
“It’s not a free speech issue, but I will call with my support.”

I agree with Cal so chalk me up as an “Islamophobic”.
If there were a law that required WTOP to fire Cal for saying these things, that would be censorship (of the 1st Amendment kind).
“WTOP decides what will be on their station. They base their programming decisions on what their listeners want. If the listeners don’t like what Cal said, WTOP won’t have him on anymore. That’s business.”

Right on that too. CAIR and its’ ilk would impede on this right. They are pushing “anti-hate” speech laws that I believe clearly violate the 1st Amendment.

Yesterday there was a thread about Keene as a token pro-Islamacist conservative, together with Grover Norquist, and their influence in the NRA. Not too sure Keene is in touch with his ‘base’ these days. So it’s not surprising he’d be on the CAIR panel.
There was a thread recently about CAIR’s membership falling around 90% in the past several years. THey are kept alive by monied interests in the Middle East and wealthy Muslims in the US, and by the MSM. Not unlike NOW on the feminist front. NO real serious membership, but LOTS of face time on tv and ink in the press.
Radical Islam is an insane murder cult; moderate Islam is its Trojan Horse in the West.

I don't think he is treating them with bigotry and hatred. Cal Thomas is actually being kind to the Muslims by pointing out their behavior, so that people can notice that and help them change it. If I were a Muslim, I would appreciate this. Since you are not a Muslim, you are incorrectly offended by this.

The Hebrew prophets were never called perfect men
We are supposed to learn from them and their lives, not to slavishly emulate their lives
The wars of the Hebrews are time and place specific while all of Muhammad's wars apply to today and all times and places for that matter
Muslims claim Muhammad was the perfect man whose life should be emulated by all mankind
That his wars and Jihads should be emulated by all Muslims. The Jihadist Muslims will tell you this to your face
