Terrorism Is Not The West's Fault (Washington Times Editors Defend Justice Of West's Cause Alert)

How they know this, except that terrorists themselves promote these notions publicly, and except that Muslim opinion generally tends to be negative on such subjects, is never clear. Much clearer is the characteristic these explanations have in common.

"I remember how we used to laugh in celebration whenever people on TV proclaimed that the sole cause for Islamic acts of terror like 9/11, the Madrid bombings and 7/7 was Western foreign policy," explained ex-terrorist Hassan Butt in yesterday's Daily Mail. "By blaming the Government for our actions, those who pushed this 'Blair's bombs' line did our propaganda work for us."

Reviewing what actually took place this weekend, none of these explanations wears very well, except as indicators of their expositors' ideological blinders. What we do know is this: Would-be terrorist killers struck out at Western civilians, scores or hundreds of whom came all too close to being coldly murdered. In Saturday's case, the targets were ordinary people at an ordinary airport. In Friday's case, they were late-night revelers and clubgoers not so different from those killed in the 2002 Bali bombings. The two nightclub bombs were rigged to detonate in a staggered fashion so as to maximize casualties in the street in a hoped-for moment of chaos following the first explosion.

It needs to be said: The West is NOT the cause of Islamofascist terrorism. Let's get the past the blame game and the need to search for "root causes" as to why the violence is happening. We need to make clear our freedoms and liberal values are not open to negotiation. And that when we are attacked, we will defend ourselves with all the means at our disposal, and yes, to strike back at the enemies of freedom. Its time to hold our heads up high and proud and stop apologizing for who we are. We are in fact thankful to count our blessings to live in free, open and prosperous societies that are a light to mankind. Islamofascists should know that we will follow our customs of quiet faith and a love of freedom here as much as they try to hold back their societies through their customs of fear and terror. In the end, the good guys will prevail.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus

“In the end, the good guys will prevail.”

YEs, they will...

The only question that remains is how many Millions of innocents must die before islamofascism, and the gay agenda in America (Allies in the war on Bush and Christianity) can be defeated.

I'd love to see the DUmmies commenting on this kind of thng.

They are a mob made up of the US-hating and the ignorant, and for the life of me I can't figure out why they insist on having EVERYTHING be the fault of the US.

I said it before and I’ll say it again - blaming the West for terrorism is like blaming the woman for rape.
