A supposed letter to the editor making the rounds of the Internet (credited to various authors at different Web sites, including "Albert V. Burns," "Rosemary LaBonte" and "Ann Marie Coviello") compares today's immigrants (bad) with the immigrants of yesteryear (good)
Snip
It explains why a poster at FreeRepublic.com inserted the face of Rudy Giuliani in what looks to be an old movie still of a sombrero-wearing bandito and added the caption "Borders? Borders? We don' need no steenking borders." It explains why Giuliani has backed off the pro-immigrant stance he had when mayor of New York City.
And it explains why even some of the most conservative Hispanics realize that all the posturing about illegal immigrants is really an attack aimed at everybody whose name ends in "ez."

“It explains why Giuliani has backed off the pro-immigrant stance he had when mayor of New York City.”
Only until and when he gets nominated and elected.
Once a fox, always a fox.
And this isn’t about immigrants or xenophobes - its about invaders, a mass migration from Mexico and people who claim they are Americans, yet pander to these invaders, or even worse, employ and exploit them.
Interesting Ping!
There are probably deep psychological issues underlying such Xenaphobia--I recommend he get professional help.

Lucy something?
The female TV Conan The Republican?
Don’t know. Only YOU would know her real name, lol.
Got bored and carried away...!
.
Lucy Lawless - an Aussie
Not a “chick-flick” really
Many ‘women’ loved the show
The show played up to them
Don’t know why that name has a different ‘connotation’ in my mind?? She sure looks like many different women in this site. I’m puzzled but this is not ‘her’ thread, lol.
I suppose that explains why I secretly hate my long time beloved friend and Christian missionary whose last name is Henriquez. I wonder how long my friend has known this awful truth about me. (sarcasm alert)
I don't have anything but sympathy for the poor Hispanic immigrants who come here legally, obey our laws, and learn our language. Those who I don't feel any sympathy for are the angry, bitter, loudly demonstrating LaRaza type Hispanics who accuse the US of stealing their land, and the many of those who are breaking our laws just by being here without documentation. They want all of the benefits of living and working in the eeeeviiill US, but refuse to assimilate and learn our language.
Frankly, while I don't hate Hispanics I have had my fill of pressing 1 for English and having to leaf through scores of pages in the instruction booklets that accompany many common items such as electronic components, electric kitchen utensils, power tools, and a thousand other products just to find directions printed in English. I guess those examples are only minor league irritations, but there are enough major league irritations and complications to fill a 2" thick hardcover book that are caused by their refusal to assimilate and to learn to speak and read in English.
My last name ends in ‘ez’ and I’m third generation.
Green Card? I don’t need no steenking Green Card!
Make that shamelez!

It ain’t xenophobia, it’s more like E. coli-in-our-spinach-TB-in-our-schools-jobs-being-taken-away-from-us-meth-users-driving-on-our-highways-pandering-to-the-needs-of-illegals-and-taking-over-our-American-identity-phobia.
The more I read about what's going on (And has been) the more outraged I become by the attempt passage of the Shamisty bill.
Living in a Rural area of the Northeast I've had almost no exposure to the "visitors" south of the border.
Then this putz comes out with a race bating column like this, I hope people have taken advantage of emailing your opinion to Mr. moron and have set him straight.(Like that's possible)
There are certainly legitimate reasons to oppose illegal immigration, but there have been a few xenophobic comments on FR. It makes everyone look bad.
That's bound to happen when you have two million people here visiting in a month, coloring FR as xenophobic is no different than taking a comment out of context.
BTTT
Yep, exactly. It's even on the big box store nursery plants now. I keep switching products so that I won't be so annoyed. The companies are pushing us into third world status. If you are a citizen here, you are supposed to speak a modicum of English.
English is my second language - shall I start demanding special rights and labels? (Yeah, right, no one cares because I don't have all the La Raza groups behind me.)
Oh, puh-leeeeeeeze! Deport them all (not just the Mexicans)!
What is the hatred of America and American citizens called? Because that is the problem, NOT xenophobia.
