Sure they do.
I expect most of those are “undocumented” Americans ... although I suppose there are some citizens willing to take a chance on a Mexican dentist to save $50.
Americans were also going to Mexican Pharmacies for bargains on prescriptions.
It doesn’t surprise me that Americans are going there for dentistry. Even with dental insurance my husband and I are still leaving dental work undone because of the high co-pays.
Actually they do. And have been for a very long time. Especially people getting lots of work done. Dentistry is hideously expensive in the US, even if you have good insurance getting multiple crowns or bridges done in the US can cost thousands out of pocket. Add to that the fact that most dentists in the US don’t seem to believe in getting the patient in quick doing the work they request and moving on, instead preferring thorough examinations and giving you a laundry list of problems (which is probably the right thing to do medically, but when a person has a bad tooth they don’t want to talk to the doctor other teeth they just want to deal with the bad tooth), and you’ve got yourself a situation where many people are going to seek alternatives.
They sure do.
I know people who have been going to Mexico to a dentist for years. They are very pleased with the denistry. They do bridges and crowns. If you get there by noon on Friday, you get your "teeth" on Sunday.
My cousin was bitten by a water moccasin and her teeth started shattering about 2 years later. She has some beautiful implants that were done in Argentina.
A Dallas dentist interviewed on TV said he had visited a dental office in Mexico and was surprised that the equipment was more modern than his own.
Most of the patients on the border are Americans and they have to do good work or they wouldn't stay open long without repeat business.
while working in Houston one of my employees went across the border to get dental work done....it was so pi$$ poorly done that she then had to turn around and go to an American and it cost her twice as much as that dentist had to fix the screw up from Mexico! All you have to remember is that the Challenger blew up because of the lowest bidder...same thought here - pay cheap, get cheap!
Three weeks ago, I was flying to Phoenix with some co-workers and one co-worker sat next to a young girl who said she and her dad were going to Mexico to have dental work done. I had never heard of such a thing. I can imagine them both waking up after anethesia in a tub full of ice with several kidneys missing.
If we can save that much money let’s send the illegal aliens who are on the dole in America back home for their dental problems.
