that is better than nothing. IMO, I’m happy with this and I’m sure Libby is as well!

Yes, there is still the fine. I am wondering if leaving the fine in place allows Libby to continue his appeal.

It may not look as good as we’d like, but on balance, I am sure Libby and his family are THRILLED. He can make up the money quickly enough .. think of how much he’d lose per year for time served in prison. I cannot even imagine spending one night in prison. He will be with his family, and he will have substantial job offers... he will ‘have a life,’ which prison takes away.

Hopefully, the appeal proceeds and he is fully vindicated, but in the meanwhile the nightmare prison term is removed.

I hope this isn’t a stupid question! Can he still appeal to clear his name?

Not if he successfully appeals.

This sentence commuting was better than nothing, but Libby still deserved a full pardon. If the judge hadn't been such an a-hole about Libby immediately going to prison, he wouldn't even have got this.

STILL will have to pay a 250,000 dollar fine.

Peanuts compared to the millions he will make from the inevitable book deal that will come out of this. On net, he'll come out ahead.

It baffles me that this man is getting so much sympathy.
