There’s something about a Southern man that drives Northeastern feminists insane. That alone makes a lot of Northeastern men want to vote for them.
Mind you, John Edwards is a Southerner, but hardly a man.

I live in New England and I really like Fred.
I hope he wins the nomination in 2008.

The fact that Hillary attacked him the other day shows what a threat she considers him to be.

I see Thompson as the only possible hope for the Republican party. Who else is there???? McCainiac? Rudytooty?
Yes, I know the others, but they are just “also ran” guys.
As my tag line says, I am happy not to be in the USA now.

Voting for Rooty, JohnnyMac or Mitt IS NOT gonna get Republicans a conservative nominee.
Fred Thompson`s brand of conservatism could be a winner.

I like him but he stutters and says ‘uh’ every other word.
When I heard him on Hannity he seemed rather bland. Not insipring.
But I’d vote for him.

Southerner Thompson-—codeword to liberals and minorities, that Thompson is to be be feared and smeared as a redneck confederate flag flying racist!

Codeword is right, have you ever heard the media refer to a candidate as a Northerner? Perhaps they feel that would indicate liberal so they avoid it.

I really like Fred, but you are correct abou the “uh’s.” Sometimes he seems really sharp in his speeches, interviews, etc. and other times not so sharp. I am certain that will he will get more consistent.

He needs to get himself some damn contact lenses and get podiums that are high enough for him to see his note cards. Having to put his glasses on in the middle of a sentence to read his note cards is ridiculous.
He has a fantastic speaking style, but that kind of stuff has to go.

Hey, I used to camp up there at Vista Lookout (I think that’s the name) back in the 80’s. They stopped us from doing that and declared it some kind of wildlife viewing area or some such in the early 90’s. Haven’t seen the name in awhile. Wonderful Country.

Don't forget, the South empowered Bill Clinton to the Presidency twice too! It also empowered Jimmy Carter and Lyndon Johnson to the Presidency--and damn near empowered Al Gore to it!
I'm sure the South is not sending its best men to Washington.
At least, I hope not.

The South, which powered George W. Bush to the presidency twice, is flexing its political muscle again in the Republican presidential campaign, this time for a native Southerner, former Sen. Fred Thompson of Tennessee. I'm from the icy tundra of Minnesota and he's got my vote when he decides to enter the race.
