SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Poisoned pet food. Seafood laced with potentially dangerous antibiotics. Toothpaste tainted with an ingredient in antifreeze. Tires missing a key safety component.
U.S. shoppers may be forgiven if they are becoming leery of Chinese-made goods and are trying to fill their shopping carts with products free of ingredients from that country.
The trouble is, that may be almost impossible.

I thought the FDA was there to regulate our food and drugs. The stuff from China gets a free pass?

Hey, a good little capitalist will never whine or complain. It doesn’t matter if it is poisonous...it’s cheaper than the stuff produced domestically, therefore it is better for the consumer. Now STFU and eat it.

Their AK variants were pretty good actually. Friends and I actually put a Chinese AKM against a Bulgarian model with a milled receiver, the AKM was more accurate.

Yep, apparently the Chicoms get a free pass . Don’t you just love “free trade” ?
It’s gotten so bad, that i’m actually excited when I can find garbage made in Mexico or Taiwan , just so I don’t have to buy garbage made in China .
I can’t wait to see how the “free traders” polish this turd ....

Sounds like there is a real opportunity to be made selling food products that contain “NO IMPORTED INGREDIENTS" and proclaims the same on the label. Who needs government regulation when you have an informed consumer and a free market?

Honestly, we're in a lucky position -- I've made deals with local Amish farmers to get our meats, fruits and vegetables. I've started canning. I'm not great at sewing (yet), but my mom is teaching me.
MOre and more, we're becoming a more self-reliant household, even though we live in the 'burbs.<>At least I KNOW I'm not putting melamine, antifreeze or illegal antibiotics in what I am putting up!

Yeah, another bill of goods our leaders and businesses in conjunction with our institutes of “higher learning” sold us. We are a “service” economy!
