It is not necessarily down to the children to tell parents to give up now, but the ideal is for them to explain, 'Mum, I don't want you to smoke at all'."

And it's up to the parents to say, "You are the child. I am an adult. You have NO power over me or, for that matter, over anyone. You only have power over yourself. I hope that you learn from my mistakes and choose to be *better* than me in this regard. If you have a problem with smoking, then don't smoke."

(Typing with hic-cups isn't impossible... only very difffficull-t!) ;-)

""It's about getting children to fight for their rights. Workers will visit schools to educate children about the dangers of second-hand smoke, so children can then ask their parents to respect their right to grow up in a smoke-free home." "

You remember the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
