Nor would anyone mistake a bottle of 1984 Gaja Barbaresco for $4 Buck Chuck Cabaret....

Well, FINALLY, I know what “Two-buck Chuck” is. I’ve seen it referenced on FR for years.
Our Trader Joe’s in Annapolis doesn’t sell any alcoholic beverages, as far as I can tell.

Many of your good Australian wines are using screwcaps. It drives the neophyte snobs crazy.

By the last breath of the four winds that blow
I'll have revenge upon Fortunato.
Smile in his face, I'll say, "Come, let us go.
I've a cask of Two-buck Chuck's Merlot."You who are rich and whose troubles are few
May come around to see my point of view
What price the crown of a king on his throne
When he's buying wine from Trader Joe?

You're not one of those "snobs" to which this article refers - are you? No ... but I make no apologies for knowing what a good Chard should taste like and '2 buck chuck' doesn't come close. Trader Joe does have other wines ... many of them excellent.

My daughter picked up some this week and tells us it is a good as any $30 bottle she has tried.
I’m a beer drinker, so it means nothing to me.

California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition is known for being one of the less wine-snobby competitions. It does have that reputation, and has designated some very undeserving wines.

I’ve never been much of a wine drinker, and even less now, but even I know MD is Mogen-David (or perhaps it’s Magen-David).

BS ... I drink more than my share of wine. Ive visited wineries all over the world ... Napa Valley, Australia, New Zealand, and more recently South Africa. I can tell you from personal experience that two buck chuck sucks ... period the end. Anyone trying to pass this abysmal wine off as a great find doesnt know crap about wine. Made this comment back in early July (see post #42) ... it still stands.

See post 44. This thread is a bit old. I suppose I’ll see your response in about a half year?
To: mamelukesabre
Id like to see beer sold the same way. Well, sort of. It would have to be somewhat different since beer is pressurized. You mean something like this:
To: AFreeBird
Yes. I like those. But when I posted that, those things were not in grocery stores yet.
However, the prices on those heineken minikegs are way too high. There should be a significant price break over bottles and cans. Years ago, budweiser was sold in “party balls”. Those were a good deal.
To: Old Student
Thank God someone FINALLY got that, lol!
Kudo's to you, my FReeper FRiend!
Btw, I saw APP in concert several (many?) years ago. Awesome show!

Nope, ‘bout a week...
But was appropriate for how long ago I last saw a bottle of MD 20/20...
Long, long ago, and far, far away, in another universe.

I’ve never seen them in concert, and never had the opportunity to do so. I envy you, FRiend.
I do have every cd of theirs I can lay hands on, though. Believe I still have four or five of their albums, too.
