That is just the tip of the iceberg! JS was such a deceitful charlatan it's a wounder how anyone could "buy" into his plan.
It's so obvious JS "money digging", "peep stone," schemes went directly after the farmers. If you look at the historical record most if not all the people he originally duped either had no compunction to verify his claims on even the surface, or the people who were witness to his shenanigan's wanted in on them because there might be profit to be made!
