"Immigrants still living in fear"
No, they are not.
First, they are not "immigrants" but criminals who broke the law by entering illegally.
Second, they don't live in fear. The illegals continue to committ crimes with impunity in the face of a Homeland Security dept. that plainly refuses to enforce the law.
Just the other day, I heard on the local radio that the ICE was releasing felons who had completed their sentences back into society instead of deporting them, as Federal laws demand.

This ***hole Ignacio has been living here for a decade and still can't speak English.
This 'reporter' should be indicted as an accessory to a crime.

I suppose if the fear got bad enough, he could always come back home to Mexico to a hero’s welcome.

I have a solution for them — GO HOME! They are here illegally and breaking the law and need a one-way ticket back to whatever country they came from! That I am willing to see my tax dollars spent on — one way tickets out of the Country.

If only there was a place they could go and not live in fear of deportation.
Perhaps we can create one. They can speak their own language and have their own autonomous government.
We can call it Mexico.

One phrase for these “immigrants”: ESAD.

They broke immigration law a decade ago ...My sympathy just melted away. If I break laws I suffer the consequences. Maybe they will have to enjoy the same "privilege" that I have.

Immigrants still living in fearJust like there are probably a bunch of bank robbers who have never been caught that are "living in fear"
They robbed banks just because they wanted a better life for their families....
Anyone see the difference?

"That I am willing to see my tax dollars spent on — one way tickets out of the Country." You could consider making a one-time investment. It'll pay for itself many times over :)

I am not impressed with Ignacio's hard work because he has been here 10 years, has three American citizens and STILL CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH. I wonder if his children do and how they fair in school.
Just another tear jerking anecdote about the good, hardworking, contributing ILLEGAL LAWBREAKERS.

I seriously doubt they’re paying taxes, except perhaps sales taxes. If you’re not a citizen with a ss#, you’re not paying taxes. If you’ve stolen an id, you’re messing up someone else’s taxes.

They go to church.
They broke into my home, purchased fake documents, assumed a fake identity and committed fraud. The oldest daughter does well in school and dreams of college.
Doesn't sound so nice that way does it?

I grew up in Kalamazoo. When I was a youngster there were always some migrant workers in the area during the summer, working the harvest. There didn't seem to be so very many of them, and they didn't stick around after the harvest season. That has changed a lot over the years. When I visit now, I'm surprised at the number of Mexicans I encounter in restaurants and stores.
Kalamazoo has a lot of liberal-leaning folks, thanks in part to WMU. The Gazette leans left as well, so this article sympathetic to illegals doesn't come as any surprise.
They'll get no sympathy from me.
