VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. Mayor Giuliani's battle to win over social conservatives in the Republican Party may not be the impossible task that many political pundits have predicted.
That certainly appeared to be the case yesterday at Regent University, the Christian college founded by evangelist Pat Robertson, where Mr. Giuliani's message of leadership and strength on terrorism met with a standing ovation.
In a 30-minute address to more than 650 students and business leaders, Mr. Giuliani never uttered the word abortion, nor did he make any other direct reference to the social issues on which his moderate positions are largely out of step with the Republican base. When he listed some of the "12 commitments" at the center of his presidential bid, he omitted the one promising to "reduce abortions."

Yawn. “Remem-buh 9/11 and duh Terraris!” And the sheeple who believe Fox News is on “their side” applaud such pap.
Not a very good Christian College.
In other words, Christians have manners.
The media has dumped McPain and adopted Rudy for now.
The media knos what is best for us-—in a pigs eye.
Well put.
Right....they were being NICE!
Christians give baby-killer gay lover a standing ovation.
Wait until Fred addresses them, make a comparison.
In all honestly Fred will put them to sleep...
yeah, and liberals like to take advantage of Christians when it suits their needs (otherwise they are done blasting them): AKA the NY Sun in their promotion of Rudy@!
And this is why he got the standing O. Had he stated his positions on any of those references he did not use, it would have been a whole different ball of wax.
Christians are polite to speakers, even a por-choice non-conservative Republican. non news.
But it might be something that the leftist agitators who try to shut out different speakers could learn from.

I dont believe it!
What do people see in Rudy.
I see a liberal Republican who will be a shameless sellout not much different from Hillary.
I see a huger lost opportunity and we throw away our cosnervative principles once again to let a non-conservative take the helm.
I am for anybody by Rudy and McCain: Romney, Thompson, Hunter are my faves.
In the eighties I used to get info from the Seven Hundred Club. Pat was instrumental in setting up Christian radio and having the gospel preached in the mideast. I don’t think I ever got an update from him without something in it about muslim extremists attacking missionaries.
I remember one in particular about a Christian school of young children that was attacked, and at the time I was shocked. I remember thinking, why would anyone attack a school of kids?
I remember telling my liberal sister about it. She, like everyone else, was clueless about the Islamic threat. Now no one is anymore.
Pat has said some strange things. But he was one of the very first public figures trying to make people aware of Islamic Extremism. It seems logical to me that his college would welcome Guiliani.
