sounds like there are people who are getting used to being authority figures who can do whatever they choose and not call it a crime. (in some places they call it the peoples’ revolutionary guard.)

Yes, there is a protected class. Look at the prostitute in Durham who claimed she was gang raped. She was never charged with a crime. *They* say it's because she has a mental health problem. In fact *they* are afraid the good citizens of Durham will set the town on fire.
