While Jorge deserves a lot of criticism on this issue, it's predictably bizarre to watch the leftistABC/NBC/CBSmedia describe this Kennedy alienamnesty bill as Bush's initiative.

As always they're trying to put up a smokescreen for the Demrats.

How does that explain Hannity and Rush calling this a "democrat" bill?

It's driving me crazy that Rush won't put any blame on Bush for this bill.

Well, it was primarily his initiative. He made common cause with Kennedy. The bill would have never been brought back up without his initiative. McConnell developed the clay pigeon strategy with Reid and then set back to let other’s lead the GOP opposition in the Senate. Bush sent cabinet secretaries and others to lobby members to vote for the bill. Bush does deserve the lions share of the blame.

Who made an unprecedented special trip to Capitol Hill last week to resurrect this dead monstrosity?

Who sent his minions to arm-twist on Capitol Hill earlier this week to try to get this monstrosity passed?

Clue: GW Bush.

Yes. This round was his initiative. And many parts of the two 2007 versions were written IN the WH.

Give credit where credit is due. This WAS a Bush initiative.

Exactly, if this bill would have passed, Kennedy’s pic would be on all front pages and the credit would go to the Dems...once again, it is Bush’s fault..any mention of the primary author is relegated to the lower paragraphs.

I am for immigration reform, it just wasn’t going to happen in this bill.

Of course they are. That is as predictable as the Sun rising in the morning.

But the bill WAS put together by White House people and the Democrats, and Bush was promoting it.

It was HIS bill as much as anyones.

You got that right. We can't let them get by with this. This was a Democrat (Teddy Kennedy) bill with only the support of a few Republicans. Republicans defeated it.

For the life of me I can not believe how R’s who are concerned about the WOT where taken on this issue. We haven’t won anything. There is still no fence, there are still no immigration laws that can be enforced and the alien numbers are still going up. Why no one wants to admit that the fence will never be funded now by the Dems and that they have tied W hands by withholding the full funds is beyond denial it’s masochistic from a national security standpoint.

Had the same thought this morning when reading the front page treatment in our local Florida paper.

This was a Kennedy boondoggle from the get go. W chose to ride that horse with him, and got thrown off............
