Yes, assimilation is not on the Mexican illegal caravan.
See the parade of Mexican flags outside homes, anytown U.S.A.
Whatever happened to the idea of the “melting pot”?
Why should one group garner special privelges. If they were citizens would’nt this be in violation of the constitution?
Illegal means they are illegal. Why are they so vituously depicted by the annointed?

Republican congressman must address this issue. the party might dodge a fatal bullet by bringing a better proposal to the floor. If not Bush and the republicans could hang for this terrible fiasco.

That's the key - most of them don't want to assimilate, and that's why so many Americans are angry. For the past 200 years, immigrants to this country assimilated easily into American culture and built a nice life for themselves, all while retaining their unique cultural identities.

The Mexican immigrants, however, seem content to create a nation within a nation. For them, there is no assimilation.

Great statement. Do you know what? I want to have a winter home in Cozumel Mexico. What does responsible people do that want in to enjoy benefits of a culture/country? They learn the native language. I am almost fluent in Spanish and two years from my winter dream escape. When I get there, I will truly enjoy the culture because I have respect for it. My grandmother who travelled the globe taught me that.
