Well well well. They repent of their repentance.

My guess is, they never bought it to begin with. They were there to weaken the organization.

All choices are respected . . . except the decision to abandon the gay lifestyle.
That decision is attacked and screamed at as evil.
Fascinating pathology.

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. I Cor. 6:9-11

To those of you, my friends, that I talked into quit being a falling down drunk and attend those meetings: I’m sorry you changed and are now happily married with a good paying job and living in that nice house. How can I ever get back in your good graces for doing that to you. If you want to go back to the gutter , well, I wont say a word.

Quibbling over what causes homosexuality is absurd and pointless. I am as certain as I can be that no gay person cares what caused them to be gay, except to the extent that it has political ramifications. Even if you could demonstrate that it was 100% environmental, most would not want to change. You would have to demonstrate to them why they should want to change, and that would be virtually impossible.
To: Salman
Actually, this is not unexpected.
Seeking leadership in such an organization and going through it all as a magical process and urging others to do the same is the sign of a narcissistic and messianic personality. These are exactly the sorts of persons one would expect to have failed in their efforts to re-order their sexual habits.
It is far more likely that the real successes among ex-gays are those who just quietly get on with their lives, raise their kids, celebrate wedding anniversaries with their husband or wife. I've known a few who did exactly that. They'd never call themselves ex-gay or join such a group, let alone become professional leaders of such an organization.

I believe they “tried” Exodus just to prove overcoming abnormal same sex feelings can’t be done. With that attitude, one will never change any behavior.
~ My mom says this was the same attitude in the 50’s and 60’s towards alcohol. You are born alcoholic and must live with “it”. When AA started in 1935 it was ridiculed and criticized by those with a pre-disposed condition of attraction to alcohol. Those who overcame were laughed at and told they wouldn't’t last. Some didn’t but as we see today, most do overcome. It took 40 years for AA to be somewhat accepted as truth. There is a whole generation who believes they must and should accept being gay as ‘normal’.

They repent of their repentance.Exactly that. They fell back into sin. Instead of asking God to forgive their failure and try to get back on the right road, they decide to claim it is something that can't be helped.
Alcoholics, over-eaters, drug addicts, and so forth. . .they have all attempted to use the same excuse as these guys. Doesn't hold water with God.

"As former leaders"----all the former leaders?--some of the former leaders?-- a small percentage of former leaders?--there are a lot of questions lurking here.
I cannot believe that this represents all the leaders of Exodus or speaks for all the joiners of Exodus. Anyone know anything of ths?
