Sam Brownback Attack Ad (Meet The GOP John Kerry Alert)

Meet Sen. Sam Brownback, Republican of Kansas.

He wants to be President of the United States. But on the most critical homeland security issues of our time, he can’t make up his mind and stick to it.

On the morning of June 28, 2007, he was for the illegal alien amnesty bill…before he was against it…

For it…then against it…

That’s right. He changed his mind and changed his vote in the span of 11 minutes!

Sam Brownback. Leadership only John Kerry could love.

Apparently you weren’t following the live thread? When his name was called he voted Aye, and when it became apparent that the motion was going to fail, he changed his vote to Nay. It was blatant, it was obvious, and a lot of people were watching.

The more you see of, and hear from, Sam Brownback, the less impressed you are.

What a sore disappointment.

Okay you are right I was not following that detail. So it was a calculated political move. I'm not saying we should forget that entirely; I'm just saying it is unwise to attack the representative who just voted your way. We shoot ourselves in the foot if we attack someone right after they voted our way. Remember it for later and hold him to the fire. I just know these votes have a way of returning, and if we slam him for that switch, it will be that much harder to get him to vote our way again.

Sam is a solid conservative and we would be great big fools to forget it. Maybe Kansas could send you Dennis Moore next time.

Uhhh, he voted the opposite way a mere 11 minutes earlier. He held up his unprincipled political finger into the wind and at the very last minute exercised his option to switch on over to the winners side. I don't care his opinions on abortion or taxes or anything else at this point. He and the rest of the SHAMNESTY Republicans need to go immediately.

We are the losers if we seek to ruin Brownback over a vote where he ended up voting the way we wanted him to. We will never ever find anyone who wants to represent us.

Proverbs 17:15 He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, Both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD

The answer is to run a good conservative challenger in the primary and replace Brownback with someone more reliable. Kansas has to be able to do better than this.

This morning as I was getting ready for work, and driving into word, a local radio show was asking people to call in and tell them what the staffers at the "MOKAN-4" offices were telling them... McCaskil's staffers said that she'd vote against. Roberts and Bond, the same thing.

But every caller who had spoken with staffers at Brownback's offices were told that the staffers didn't know how Brownback was going to vote! He actually refused to tell them how he was going to vote when his constituent were to call, and he HAD TO KNOW that they were calling!

So he ended up against it? Isn’t that what everyone wanted? He has said all along that he was only for it if it included certain things like border control. Since the version of the bill kept changing, I’m not sure Sam can be faulted. I’m not saying either way. I just don’t think this is enough info.

He's been a very long time supporter of open borders, and before he moved east, Jerry Agar interviewed Brownback and really took him to task for his views.

And ask Kansans if they want their Senator who lies to their faces like that on such a vital issue.

The arcane Senatorial voting procedure was obviously carefully designed to avoid accountability.

For a century, it worked very well. The only record was the Congressional Record.

Then, along came the Internet. And that kinda crap don't work no mo'.

Brownback is toast.

Interestingly, a couple of months ago, his campaign website identified him as a firm conservative on every issue -- save one. He was an "open borders/amnesty" kinda guy.

This philosophy is intellectually incoherest and leads one to believe that somebody bought and paid for Senator Sam Brownback (the meat packers, anybody?).

So, he said "Yes" in public even before he said "Yes" in the Senate. But, after the votes were counted, he said "No" in the Senate and promoted it in public -- lying not only to his constituents, but to the people who bought him.

Whattaguy!

"I wanted to signal that I am supportive of comprehensive immigration reform, but that now is not the time and this is not the bill."

Not bad for an excuse on eleven minutes notice.

But I've had eight-year olds who could do better than that...

Actually, and unbelievably, he is worse than Kerry...

Exactly. He's as unsuited to our party as Giuliani is.
