FINAL ROLL CALL: 46-53.
RINOS: Graham (R-SC), Gregg (R-NH), Hagel (R-NE), Kyl (R-AZ), Lott (R-MS), Lugar (R-IN), Martinez (R-FL),McCain (R-AZ), Snowe (R-ME), and Specter (R-PA).
Hats off to the Dems who voted agains this crap: Bayh (D-IN), Bingaman (D-NM), Brown (D-OH), Byrd (D-WV), Dorgan (D-ND), Harkin (D-IA), Landrieu (D-LA), McCaskill (D-MO), Nelson (D-NE), Pryor (D-AR), Rockefeller (D-WV), Sanders (I-VT), Stabenow (D-MI), Tester (D-MT) and Webb (D-VA).
It should be noted that the following Republicans switched their vote for Yea to Na from the bill earlier in the week. They include: Bennett (R-UT), Bond (R-MO), Brownback (R-KS), Burr (R-NC), Coleman (R-MN), Collins (R-ME), Craig (R-ID), Domenici (R-NM), Ensign (R-NV), McConnell (R-KY), Murkowski (R-AK), Stevens (R-AK), Voinovich (R-OH) and Warner (R-VA)
It is sad, really, that Senator Jon Kyl has gone from stalwart conservative Republican Senator to supporting this amnesty crap. He has really pissed off a great number of Republicans in Arizona over this and he will feel the heat when he runs for re-election. What's more sad is that Republicans in Arizona mostly detest McCain, but we can't get rid of him. But Kyl may be one that we can get rid of and, despite his support of this amnesty garbage this time around, he's far better than McCain ever was.
Thanks for the list!!
No. See post #40.
Yes... I thought I would never have uttered the words that “I’m glad McCaskill is/was on our side on this issue..” but it happened.. As a resident of the Show-Me State, I am disappointed at Bond’s performance on this issue.
Collins is up for relection, but she voted “NO” today.
Did TERM LIMIT POSTER BOY Orrin Hatch take the wussy way out....and not vote?
Yeah, looks like we turned a few of them around. Kyl is a big disappointment though.
Or not enough are willing to follow him off the plank when he walks off the boat with a few of his friends.
I’m concerned about Bennett. Both C-Span and Michelle Malkin have Bennett voting FOR cloture, not against. What is the truth?
You are, of course, also speaking about Brownback...the next “ex-candidate” for Prez.
Looks like some deaf RINOs finally pulled out their earplugs. Then again, they’re probably just running for cover for fear of the next election.
BTW, here are all the Repubs up for reelection in 08’.
Lamar Alexander of Tennessee
Saxby Chambliss of Georgia
Norm Coleman of Minnesota
Susan Collins of Maine
John Cornyn of Texas
Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina
Pete Domenici of New Mexico
Michael Enzi of Wyoming
Lindsey Graham of South Carolina
Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma
Mitch McConnell of Kentucky
Pat Roberts of Kansas
Jeff Sessions of Alabama
Gordon Smith of Oregon
Ted Stevens of Alaska
John Sununu of New Hampshire
The worst of the bunch is Graham. This guy is the most untrusted GOP Republican out there that simply looks at McCain and Hagel for direction. This guy needs to be defeated in SC next year in the primary.
Voinovich was on Sean Hannity’s radio show and Voinovich removed all doubt of his own ignorance on illegal immigration. He wilted from the questions fired at him by Hannity. He also told, Hannity he would never had come on the show if he knew it was going to be like that. This man is a coward and cannot defend his convictions.
He was asked about the fairness doctrine and said, that he thought fairness was good. I cannot believe this ignoramus is a senator. He is clueless about what is going on. What does he do in DC attend parties?
The Senate site lists Craig (RINO-ID) as having voted for cloture.... He needs retired too, if that ain’t a typo.
Please add Larry Craig R(ID) to your list.
I know nothing further about her. A brief scan of her Issues page reveals some decent positions (support for Israel was one), but I try not to take Democrats at their word.
‘The worst of the bunch is Graham.’
Yep, he’s the GOP’s version of the Breck Girl, Johnny Edwards.
Uh oh, I’ll probably get an angry email from his overbearing wife now.....(chuckle)
