FINAL ROLL CALL: 46-53.
RINOS: Graham (R-SC), Gregg (R-NH), Hagel (R-NE), Kyl (R-AZ), Lott (R-MS), Lugar (R-IN), Martinez (R-FL),McCain (R-AZ), Snowe (R-ME), and Specter (R-PA).
Hats off to the Dems who voted agains this crap: Bayh (D-IN), Bingaman (D-NM), Brown (D-OH), Byrd (D-WV), Dorgan (D-ND), Harkin (D-IA), Landrieu (D-LA), McCaskill (D-MO), Nelson (D-NE), Pryor (D-AR), Rockefeller (D-WV), Sanders (I-VT), Stabenow (D-MI), Tester (D-MT) and Webb (D-VA).
It should be noted that the following Republicans switched their vote for Yea to Na from the bill earlier in the week. They include: Bennett (R-UT), Bond (R-MO), Brownback (R-KS), Burr (R-NC), Coleman (R-MN), Collins (R-ME), Craig (R-ID), Domenici (R-NM), Ensign (R-NV), McConnell (R-KY), Murkowski (R-AK), Stevens (R-AK), Voinovich (R-OH) and Warner (R-VA)
I would be more than happy to show Martinez the door...sign me up for any petition that eliminates this un-American RINO!
Thanks for that list.
Now I understand the Collins vote.
Can we get some good independent senators elected in those areas?
If the republicans in those states won’t put up a good candidate, maybe we can get an independent that is better.
We will remember. When the Rinos go; they should not be allowed lobby jobs ever.
“there is very little alternative but to vote for them in the general, just hold your noses.”
This is exactly what they count on. The Rhinos view conservatives the same way that Dems view blacks. Where else are they going to go? is their attitude. If you support them after this, then you might as well kiss conservatism in the Republican Party good bye.
I heard both the Voinovich and Bond interviews and was just floored.
I came away thinking, sheesh ANYBODY can get elected Senator.
Where’s the fence and the conveyor belt to send the illegals back to their own countries.
WE NEED TERM LIMITS!
BGH,
There are a few names missing from your list. Perhaps you know if they have announced retirement?
Wayne Allard of CO
Thad Cochran of MS
Larry Craig of ID
Chuck Hagel of NE
John Warner of VA
“Theyd never have enforced anything that was real border control or fines, etc.”
I’m serious that we may need to start another party. At least in the states where the republican party is failing.
If we start off at the state level, and get good support in a few states, then maybe we can grow it.
It’s ridiculous that republians have to vote for dumb or dumber.
It’s got to change.
I understand what you're saying. Here's hoping that this time around we will have the good sense to say no to the RINO candidates and put a good conservative man in the general election. We need to understand that words and pledges are nothing but straw. We need to vote for the man with a long history of acting exactly as what he claims he is. The longer the history of conservatism, (which is why voting for a relatively young man is folly), the better chance that the candidate will never bend his ways to pander for votes.
We need federal elected officials (statesmen stateswomen) with cojones (the conviction)to do the right thing, always...it's hard, but, that is what they are entrusted with.
I knew that Bush was a supporter of amnesty. However, I was shocked at how vigourously he tried to get this passed. I didn’t realize it was going to be one of his major issues.
Why couldn’t he had gone after SS reform with the same effort?
Especially after 9/11, how could he go for illegal immigration with such zeal.
Prediction! Senator Grah-AM-NESTY will be defeated by the good people of South Carolina in the next election. Meanwhile, they must work very hard to find a candidate to replace him!
V can read?
LLS
Unfortunately, we have all kinds of Democrats working for Specter in the primaries, i.e. unions passing out registration cards for their members and families to re-register Republican (temporarily) to vote for Specter in the primary, and the Dem party hierarchy only allowing some blithering idiot to run for the Democrat nomination to challenge him, and finally, instructions from the Dem leadership to school teachers, people who work in state and local gov't's to vote Specter in the general, etc.
IF we are unable to knock him out in the primary in 2010, I'm breaking my 20+ yr. ban on voting for ANY Democrat and voting for any fool Democrat who gets on the ballot in the general. My only exception MIGHT be if Teddy Kennedy relocates to PA and runs against him!
Fair question. The case FOR supporting RINOs is that if the R's get 50+1 then they control the Senate, which means committee assignments, and voting majorities. Without last terms R control (enabled by RINOS) the Donkeys, for instance, would probably have been able to bottle up Roberts and Alioto's Supreme Court nominations in Judiciary. Thus, no conservatives getting appointed.
There are lots of other problems with Donkeys in control, for instance Reid running the Senate with his odd rules to push amnesty. Unlikely in a R controlled Senate.
So much as we hate them it may make sense to keep a few around if we want to be in the majority.
