"We can’t be at war with every muslim in the world."

Yes we can, and we are.

Regardless of whether each and every Muslim in the world wants to kill you or not is irrelevant, all Muslims worldwide deeply believe in and adhere to a religious/political ideology that promotes a dualist worldview that is the antithesis of freedom and democracy.

The word "Islam" my FRiend does not mean "peace" as America's quislings would have you believe, it means "submission". It should be painfully obvious that freedom and liberty, that very creed for which all Americans live by is in actuality the diametrical opposite of what Islam truly is.

Under the guise of political correctness Americans have been led to believe that their obeisance towards Islam is merely an act of tolerance. Chesterson once said that "Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions". Think about it.

Tell me what convictions America holds dear today and I will show you how America's "conflict of conscience" has led to our nation's submission. How will the next generation of Americans, your children and mine, find courage to fight for the sort of imperfect humanity which is willing to abort innocent lives while sanctifying those of criminals, or which undermines it's own principles by banning moral absolutes as politically incorrect.

Reflect on Chesterson's eternal aphorism and look around and tell me where America's love affair with political correctness and tolerance has led.

America is in need of strong leadership not consensus, sadly leadership is something that Bush has consistently shown to be incapable of providing.

I'll end this with a quote from Reagan that it fitting from another time in our nation's history when we faced a grave threat to our way of life.

"You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man's age-old dream -- the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order -- or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. Regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would sacrifice freedom for security have embarked on this downward path. Plutarch warned, "The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits."

Ronald Reagan - Address to the nation, 27 October 1964

Wow - I got off on a rant there there - Sorry for being long-winded. But one more thing.

I realize that even here at FR there will be many who don't share my beliefs even though I share what I have experienced overseas. But I do so only because of the deep love that I have for my country, a love of the values we stand for, for freedom and democracy and a love that has grown ever more since I have lived overseas. In my time overseas I have experienced what many Americans have not and it has made me appreciate more deeply what America stands for.

I have tried to spend a lot of time both at FR over the years and on my blog updating with my experiences - there is so much more I want to share. I hope that those of you who are interested in what I have to say will help promote my blog and share it with others. With more support I hope to expand it one day if I can. Thanks so much.

I wish the picture that accompanies this article would show the President’s feet. I saw part of this on the news yesterday and, because it was a mosque, he was shoeless at the podium. His socks were nice though, black with green toes.

blah blah blah.

i’ll tell you one thing i’m sick of..

i’m sick of these so-called “moderates” being silent.

the ONLY sincere ‘Muslims’ you see on tv speaking up are secular (ex) Muslims. the rest of them are liars.

So i stand by my statement. It’s not my job to sort out who the devout hostile lying Muslims are the peaceful nominal Muslims are. THAT’S THEIR JOB... so i take the default defensive posture...

TRUST NONE OF THEM.

Bush to Name Envoy to Islamic Conference

By BEN FELLER

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush announced Wednesday he will establish an envoy to a coalition of Muslim countries, with hopes of bolstering ties to the Islamic world and improving the image of the United States.

Bush's special envoy, who has not yet been named, will be a liaison to The Organization of the Islamic Conference. The intergovernmental organization, representing more than 50 Islamic states, promotes Muslim solidarity in social and political affairs.

"Our special envoy will listen to and learn from representatives from Muslim states, and will share with them America's views and values," Bush said in a ceremony honoring the 50th anniversary of the Islamic Center, a mosque and cultural center in Washington.

"This is an opportunity for Americans to demonstrate to Muslim communities our interest in respectful dialogue and continued friendship," Bush said.

The United States has never before had a diplomat dedicated to dealing with The Organization of the Islamic Conference, or OIC. The establishment of a U.S. envoy comes as the plodding war in Iraq has fanned anti-American sentiment across the Muslim world.

The OIC was created in 1969 in response to an arson attack on the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. It now has 57 members and is the second-largest international organization in the world, after the United Nations.

"This is an organization that a lot of people in the region look to, and we thought it was the right time to appoint somebody," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said. Previously, according to the State Department, U.S. relations with the organization have been handled mainly by the U.S. ambassador to the country holding the OIC's rotating presidency, which is currently Turkey.

Those attending Wednesday's ceremony, including Bush, took off their shoes as they entered. Bush listened as a verse from the Quran was read.

"We live in a time when there are questions about America and her intentions. For those who seek a true understanding of our country, they need to look no farther than here," Bush said.

"This Muslim center sits quietly down the road from a synagogue, a Lutheran church, a Catholic parish, a Greek Orthodox chapel, a Buddhist temple - each with faithful followers who practice their deeply held beliefs and live side by side in peace," he said.

Bush singled out Iran and Syria and accused them of religious and political repression.

"Millions seek a path to the future where they can say what they think, travel where they wish and worship as they choose," he said. "They plead in silence for their liberty and they hope someone, somewhere will answer.

"So today in this place of free worship, in a heart of a free nation, we say to those who yearn for freedom from Damascus to Tehran: you are not bound forever by your misery. Plead in silence no longer. The free world hears you. You're not alone. America offers you its hand in friendship. We work for the day when we can welcome you into the family of free nations."

Abdullah Khouj, president of the Islamic Center of Washington, noted it was Bush's third visit. The president's first visit was after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks when he denounced prejudice against Muslims in the United States. He also visited in December 2002.

More appeasement. It looks like Bush has named our first envoy to the Caliph. Wonderful...

Mr. Bush is a national embarrassment and has singlehandedly destroyed much of the conservative coalition. His name will live in infamy along with Jimmy Carter as the worst president in modern history.

UGH! This is mind boggling — I used to scoff at the people that said oil was behind a lot of this, but then I remembered yesterday that ANRW was never really pushed except for a few attempts but nothing like Bush is doing on immigration. Does make one wonder about the Saudi connection!

you are correct--for now. the problem will be as Islam gains more and more "power", the Iman's will begin teaching the "not-so-nice" parts of the Koran so that the moderate muslims will face the truth of Islam. The Koran requires that infidels (us dhimmi non-believers) be 1.)converted; 2.)killed; or 3.) pay the "dhimmi" tax to save our lives. The Koran also says that when the population is 20% muslim, they must establish Sharia (sp?) Law.

We'll see how many "moderate" Muslims become "good" Muslims and how many "moderates" leave Islam, which would mean risking their very lives.

Why not just get on our knees to the Ummah.

Bush Marks 50th Year of Islamic Center
CBN News
June 27, 2007

CBNNews.com - President Dwight D. Eisenhower spoke at the dedication of the Islamic Center back in 1957.

Today, President Bush marked the 50th anniversary of the mosque by condemning Muslim radicals as “Islam’s true enemy.”

The President challenged Muslim leaders to stand up against terrorists who kill in the name of Islam.

And he said that Islamic extremism must be turned back and freedom advanced in the Middle East.

“We say to those who yearn for freedom from Damascus to Tehran, you’re not bound forever by your misery,’” Bush said. “You plead in silence no longer. The free world hears you. You’re not alone. America offers you its hand in friendship. We work for the day where we can welcome you into the family of free nations.”

The President also announced plans to appoint a special envoy to the organization of Islamic states. The group represents some 50 Islamic countries.

Bush said that the envoy will represent America’s “views and values” to the Muslims’ world.

For more details on the President’s speech, see our video interview with CBN News Reporter Erick Stakelbeck after the story, by clicking play above.
