Perhaps his campaign theme song should be “I Ain’t Got No Body.”

(Obscure transubstantiation joke.)

It seems strange that no one ever questions the status in the Church of Ted Kennedy or John Kerry. Guliani’s support for abortion is tepid in comparison and both Kennedy and Kerry have actively sought funding for abortion. I am certain that when Teddy Kennedy goes to the great gin mill in the sky he will be buried with full rites in the Church with at least a Bishop if not a Cardinal presiding.

He can't have a confessor.

Bzzzt! Wrong answer. You can always go to confession. What you can't do is be absolved of your sin without taking real steps to give up the sin. That is, to renounce the irregular marriage(s) and practice chastity—that is, you can only have sexual relations with someone you're licitly married to.

Now, the quiz question would be: Who is Mr. Giuliani licitly married to? His first wife? I guess not, since that marriage was declared null (sacrament never really was conferred). Donna Hanover? (A scary thought.) Maybe, since it was never annulled, as far as I know. How about nobody?

Sheesh, Rudy. Straighten out your life and stop putting us through this!

NO ONE who supports abortion actively or passively is a Christian. An unrepentant murderer will not go to Heaven, end of story.

“Married three times, Giuliani simply isn’t the Catholic candidate he claims to be. He can’t have a confessor. He can’t receive the sacraments of penance, the Eucharist, or marriage. “

Good gravy! You don’t know what you’re talking about. This is all UNTRUE. The church may choose to not recognize the marriage as being sanctified, particularly if a previous marriage was conducted within the church, but that doesn’t mean that a catholic is cut off from the church. Far from it, they are welcomed to remain in the church.

A politician is also immune from the abortion issue if it is the law of the land and they never voted on the original bill to make it into law. This is like blaming Giuliani if some woman in Topeka gets an abortion. Exactly how is that his fault?

{Today, he says it would be “OK to repeal” Roe v. Wade, though he hosted celebrations of its anniversary three times at City Hall. His wholesale reversal on Medicaid funding, late-term abortions, and parental consent are all part of a repackaging}

Giuliani doesn’t hate abortion at all. He jsut hates to talk about in the primary. His answers on aboriton related questions change with the audience. In Feb 2007, he said he supported repealing the Mexico City Policy, a federal law that bars federal funds from being used to promote abortion overseas. In May 2007, on Laura Ingraham, he was asked about the Mexico City Policy. Rudy claimed he did not know what that law was. After Laura explained it to him, he said he supported the Mexico City Policy because it was on the books. A complete flip flop. After the interview, Rudy asked Laura not to ask hima bout social issues any more.

Catholics can say he is not following their beliefs, people can criticize him for his positions on abortion, gays, guns, or whatever.

However, no one should be judging him before God (and proclaiming he is on the outs). There is only One judge in that court and He is not on this Earth.

God will take care of His own business.

abortion ... Issues like that are for me and my confessor.

Message to Rudi: If your confessor is counseling you that supporting abortion is OK, then he is just as ex-communicated as you are -- maybe more so.
