NEW YORK, June 26 -- Warren E. Buffett was his usual folksy self Tuesday night at a fundraiser for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) as he slammed a system that allows the very rich to pay taxes at a lower rate than the middle class.

Buffett cited himself, the third-richest person in the world, as an example. Last year, Buffett said, he was taxed at 17.7 percent on his taxable income of more than $46 million. His receptionist was taxed at about 30 percent.

A) He’s free to pay as much as he wants.

B) Raising the INCOME tax on high income earners has NO EFFECT on taxing the wealthy such as himself, AND HE KNOWS IT.

Personally, I would rather that I pay his tax rate than he and the Dems pressure congress for the rich to pay mine.

The MSM and socialists will interpret this as justification to raise the AMT so everyone making at least 6 figures has to pay at least 36%.

But that’s the wrong interpretation. The right interpretation is that no secretary should be paying more than 10%. Ideally, neither should anyone else.

Buffett says he wants to even out the field for those who have drawn the “unlucky tickets” in life. Is he saying that he got rich by sheer luck? Has he donated the difference in the tax to the Federal Government? How does he rate a 17% tax without seeking shelters, unless he’s hiding income?

You mean the rich are better represented in Congress than the middle class? Who’d a thunk it?

He’s got the guilty white liberal conscience. He’s already made all his money. Now he just sits there and watches it make more on it’s own. Of course he’s being taxed less when he doesn’t even have a salary.

Quit complaining, Warren. You are free to pay more or if you think your secretary should pay less, then pay her taxes or pay her more salary. Do not have the audacity to say we should pay more because you pay so little and she pays so much. Quit the hypocrisy - reduce the size of government and we (and she ) will pay less. Very damn simple.

Buffett is a deceptive arsehole.

99.999% of his income is in the form of dividends, not salary.

His receptionist is paid a salary.

What he is calling for is a system that will punish people for investing.

Liberals make me barf! They all need to be on Prozac for their mental dysfunction. Perhaps the Senate can take up that bill next time around. All Liberals need to be forced to take meds for their mental disorders starting with Reid.

So those who do work for a living should overall pay twice as high an income tax as those who don’t. I think some sort of equality among income categories is not inappropriate, but maybe I am biased.

Buffett paid $8MM, his receptionist $18,000.

Frankly, I don’t buy the fact his receptionist paid $18,000 on $60,000 salary either.

It results in the same thing: the rich pay 96% of all taxes paid in the US.

Warren Buffet, poster child for affluenza.

There’s a big difference between Capital Gains and Earned Income. Capital Gains are preferred with a lower tax rate than Earned Income, which is despised and therefore sucked away by jackbooted thugs before the people get used to it and spend it on frivolous things like food, medicine, clothing, transporation and education.
