A Republican senator from Kentucky says the so-called "comprehensive immigration reform" bill is completely unnecessary because there are already laws on the books the government has yet to enforce that will stop illegal aliens at the border.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) is reportedly unsure whether he will support the immigration bill that would grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. McConnell tells Associated Press, "the bill on the merits is a mixed bag," and he won't decide how to vote on the measure until a series of amendments have been considered.
But fellow Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning is not ambivalent. At a Capitol Hill press conference, Bunning denounced the bill.
"If you believe that over ten- to twelve-million people can get secure I.D. cards in their hands and have the government get them to them in time so we can check whether they're legal or illegal when they come into this country, you're smoking something that is illegal," the Republican lawmaker declares.
Bunning also believes the government has to secure the borders first for the American people to believe that Congress is serious about cracking down on illegal immigration. He says the bill includes a lot of "hoopla" about building a fence, placing cameras on the border, and adding 20,000 more border security personnel -- but none of that will work, says the senator, until the American people can trust their government to do what it said it would do in 1986: end illegal immigration.
The continuation of illegal immigration has had a devastating affect on the American economy, according to Bunning. "[Illegal immigrants] contribute about $10,000 in taxes, but it costs the federal government $30,000 to support them," he points out. "So we have a net loss of $20,000 per person-- and the older they get, the more it costs. And once they get into the Social Security system, it's about three trillion extra dollars."
Bunning has even asked reporters whether they believe the same government that cannot efficiently get passports to American citizens can seal off the country's borders. According to the U.S. State Department, a record number of applications for passports has resulted in a 10- to 12-week routine processing time. But news outlets report applicants finding that issuance of their passports is often taking longer, sometimes resulting in a change of travel plans.

"We' have Chappaquidicked America (drowned, with the victim hopelessly scratching the glass, trying futilely to escape)
with a bill written by La Raza making the American public our, and their, lowly docile servants, forever."
Military badges of the enemy discarded, and found, at border. Thank you, El Presidente. NOT.
The pressure to push this bill on the American people must be so strong. but where is it coming from ?

Jim Bunning knows that good jobs are stolen by illegal aliens, and he knows that they work for such low wages that they force all workers’ wages down.
There is nothing wrong with treating legal aliens justly. Justice for illegals is deportation to their country.
Congress also can fix the anchor baby problem. It is not really a 14th amendment issue. That was not the purpose of the 14th amendment.

syphillis, mumps, leprosy, dengue fever, cholera, plague, and even polio"
We need to save the GOP.
Or our party will go the route of the WIGS. That is how serious this immigration bill is.

And that dead elephant would be about the end of the USA. :(
We must always remember we are a humane people and nation.
Free flights home must be provided.

LMAO. Great pic too - that trebuchet looks cool.
That’s $30,000 at the federal level...then there is the state and local level to be added in...probably another $15,000 or so thousand per individual. The influx of the millions of their extended family members will necessitate new schools, teachers, jails, police, jail guards, fire, EMT’s, new prison, guards, professors, college buildings, state medica-aid, non-profit hospitas will be even harder pressed and could go under etc....all of which will come out of property and state taxes which will need to be raised to support them.
You're thinking of the Whigs. The WIGS party is where Joe Biden will end up when an ultra-liberal runs against him in a primary.
As a pre-coffee guess, Republicans want it because every landscaping company, every place that wants labor wages to be low is franticaly emptying their checkbooks.
Democrats want it because Welfare parasites are always Democrats, so they are frantically emptying their checkbooks as well.
This is like a flock of seagulls landing at a french fry spill.
Our representatives are having a Grand Sales Extravaganza, and the lobbyists have spoken.
LOL. Yeah...
