As a consequence, Bolton said he was "very worried" about the well-being of Israel.

A nuclear-armed, jihadist-infested Iran isn't good for America either, to put it mildly. No need for Bush to be gun shy -- this won't be an occupation/nation-building/social-engineering effort. (In fact, that would be most undesirable for too many reasons to list). Just sink their navy, take out their nuke sites, and be done with it.

Events are moving almost inexorably towards war with Iran unless they pull back from the abyss, and they show no signs of coming to their senses. In fact, recent weeks have made it all too clear that Iran envisions itself as a regional super power.

Worse still, according to Ambassador Bolton, the Bush administration does not recognize the urgency of the hour and that the options are now limited to only the possibility of regime change from within or a last-resort military intervention, and it is still clinging to the dangerous and misguided belief that sanctions can be effective.
Maybe Bush converted to Islam and didn't tell anyone. Maybe Aliens ate his brain and left his body to shamble about the White House to scare children and support dangerous legislation. What happened to the damned president!? This like the Manchurian Candidate only not the wretched remake but the original thriller.

This is just more of what I have been getting for the last few weeks in email. This Administration is seriously out of whack with the real world right now and it is starting to get freaky.

We have a long time to go before the election and people better wake up that this is not some lark for President but we are facing massive problems that are being left by this Administration and their kumbaya. If Bush, Cheney, and Rove and their puppets support a candidate, you all had better ask why? Not donors because some donors are donating to more than one candidate but political operatives associated with Bush/Cheney/Rove because most people don’t want a Bush around them again.

Bolton:

""We have fiddled away four years, in which Europe tried to persuade Iran to give up voluntarily," he complained. "Iran in those four years mastered uranium conversion from solid to gas and now enrichment to weapons grade... We lost four years to feckless European diplomacy and our options are very limited.""

I respect Mr. Bolton.

This is sad business.

GWB could not garner enough support to invade his Texas ranch garage right now.

Seems that GWB does not / has not recognized the urgency of a few issues.

Lock and load, Israel. And may God be with you.

Our politicians have been gelded by the press and their thirst for incumbent power.

So currently the only guy I see pulling for our country, as a country, is Bolton. And he’s ignored by half the country for the sake of partisan politics or pure pacifisms.

We’re in deep deep doodoo the likes we’ve not seen before.

Most of us figured out that sanctions wouldn’t stop Iran a long, long time ago.

I fear our President has not only lost the will to fight...he has also lost his mind.

Almost every action for the last year has been bizarre...to include inactions. He must live in a truly insular world where his advisors control his access to reality.

Sorry, but Bush has other priorities right now, specifically, taking care of the cheap labor needs of his corporate buddies. A nuclear Iran sworn to kill Americans around the world is trivial compared to our need at home to have clean toilets and well-manicured lawns.

And why can’t Bolton see that it is more important for the Bush Administration to have negogiations with Iranian mullahs than to talk to his own base which put him in office just because they oppose his amnesty plans.

I have refrained from criticizing Bush on the war, for the most part. He started out very well, in Afghanistan and Iraq, and Tommy Franks handled things brilliantly. With all the Democrat defeatist talk, he needs our support.

But he totally dropped the ball with the State Department and CIA, which had to coordinate with the military in those places. And he totally dropped the ball with the rules of engagement after the initial invasion of Iraq. And he totally dropped the ball by ignoring Syria. And he totally dropped the ball with Iran.

He didn’t create the Iranian problem, Jimmy Carter did. But he has really screwed up by waiting so long and doing nothing. The Syrian regime should have been deposed three or four years ago. Iran should have been hit before the 2006 elections.

Now, with the Shamnesty Bill, he has totally lost his base. His support is virtually nil. Iran claims to have already made a hundred pounds of activated Plutonium, and no doubt they have it well hidden. Is he planning to wait until they start setting off nukes in our cities before doing anything? Is he planning to wait until our country falls apart and hillary is elected? Does he think she is capable of dealing with Iran?
