Bill Clinton has sent out a mass e-mail to supporters seeking donations to Hillary’s presidential campaign and vowing that she won’t tolerate "swift boat” tactics against her.
"I hope you enjoyed the ‘Sopranos’ spoof Hillary and I did last week,” the former president begins. "Campaigns should be fun, but they are also serious business – especially now . . .
"Hillary can be a great president, but she needs your support to win. And she needs it now as we come down to the wire in the last critical days of this quarter.”
Calling Hillary "the best candidate for president, Bill goes on to say: "She’s also the best candidate to beat the Republican machine. You know Hillary will never let a swift boat-style attack go unanswered.”
The reference, of course, is to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and their widely publicized criticism of 2004 presidential candidate John Kerry and his Vietnam War experiences, which Kerry supporters charged was politically motivated. Kerry was slow to respond to the group’s allegations.
Clinton continues: "When I met her more than 35 years ago, I thought Hillary had the best combination of mind and heart I’d ever seen – and I still do. But it’s going to take every dollar to make sure that Americans get to know the real Hillary, like I do.”
He concludes: "Hillary needs your help today to bring change to America . . . Help put Hillary in the White House. Together, we can make it happen.”

Well, since most of the people who would say otherwise have “passed away”, the point is moot. Long live the queen!
Presumably this means that conservatives won’t be able to use the truth against Hillary, like they used it against sKerry.
Maybe they can get McCain and Feingold to write up some legislation outlawing all truth-telling during campaigns. I’m sure that they’d both support it — Bush would sign it and the Supremes would declare it constitutional.

Swift boat tactics? What's that? People who don't agree with liberal elitist (legends in their own minds) will be shut up?

How is Clinton going to make sure we can't speak our truth?
When Kerry was "swift boated" it meant people who knew Kerry and served with him were able to use their right to speak truth to power. They were able to stand up and tell the people where Kerry was lying and where he was telling the truth - as they saw it. It's called freedom of speech.
Liberal goons don't like that... Clinton wants to take away that freedom?
He doesn't want to be bothered with everyday Americans having freedom of speech? Is this for real? Isn't that the system used in North Korea? Yeah, I'm charmed.
You already have her flip flops on the war, her lust to create socialized medicine and her “We will take things from you speech”.
If her opposition even tries 15%, she’s toast.

Since the swift boat ads were 100% truthful I guess this means Hillary fears that someone might tell the truth about her, which she absolutely won’t tolerate.

They challenge and taunt.. and refer to their “playful” Sopranos ad....
The message is clear: I WON’T be swiftboated. WE won’t be swiftboated. If in doubt, please check my current playful ads referencing the Mafia. Got the picture? Oh, and yes... you must send in protection money now.
These people aren’t even subtle anymore. This campaign is riddled with implied threats already. And they mean business.
