According to Republican polling and strategy firm The Tarrance Group(1), currently engaged in strategic polling for Rudy Giuliani, 47 house members, 10 senators and 5 governors, - more than 70% of Americans support the current Senate Comprehensive Immigration Reform efforts, referred to by most Americans as “amnesty”.
Once again, we learn that it’s all in how you frame the question…
When CNN recently asked if we favored or opposed the senate immigration reform bill, 47% said they oppose, 30% favored and 22% remained unsure, proving mostly that CNN viewers just aren’t that bright. (Just kidding – but 22% unsure?)
The point is, - the Tarrance Group poll must have asked questions that no other polling firm asked in order to come up with the answers they are reporting to your senate Republicans.

Odd that Rass., RCP and Gallup just don’t have those numbers. Oh well, not that it matters since the Kennedy Bill got life today due to the Dem majority and a few Pubs. Well, Thurs, another cloture vote will occur . If amendments are not supported, some Pub Senators may and said they will, reverse themselves on Thurs.

I believe that most Americans support penalties for the crime - I just do not think that most Americans support deportation as the uniform punishment.

Just read their immigration laws. Any foreigner obeying a "higher obligation" in Mexico gets automatic jail time; followed by expulsion.

Ironically, that's exactly what the amnesty bill will do.
A man who breaks the law, overthrows his corrupt government, and then helps to make his own country a safe place for his family to pursue life, liberty, and happiness is obeying the higher obligation. The man who runs from his obligations as a man is just a coward.
