I am a proud American who is a Hindu and I think this is a bad idea. America was founded on Judeau-Christian traditions which is one of the primary reasons it is the greatest nation on earth. Multiculturalism is suicidal and we need to preserve the AMERICAN culture. Admittedly Hinduism is actually a religion of peace and poses no harm to the USA but it has no place in the Senate.
We are a majority Christian nation and if that ever changes, it will become a third world nation like for example India where I escaped from.

I have no problem with Hindus...that is their business. I haven’t seen many Americans killed by enraged Hindus...I haven’t heard where they are demanding special treatment.
And I certainly haven’t heard they view all non-Hindus as subhuman.
I am okay with that...this whole thing is just politically correct hooey.
Personally, I want to see what the libs do when someone proposes adherents of Voodoo or Wiccans want to have their day opening the session. That ought to be entertaining.
And...btw...glad you are in America! People like you have SEEN real “multiculturalism”, so you know about what it really is.

It has been traditional in Washington for a while to invite prayer leaders from all faiths. They ought to just gavel the meeting open, but some like a reminder of something beyond the immediate business at hand for perspective and the messages are remarkably similar no matter who gives it: ‘let us not totally screw up today.’
