WASHINGTON, June 25 (UPI) -- Iranian involvement in fomenting instability in Iraq is said to be increasing, and is not limited to providing sophisticated roadside bombs and armaments.

U.S. forces in Iraq have captured a small number of extremists who have been trained recently in Iran in mortar and rocket operations, according to a top U.S. commander.

From the State of the Union Address by George W. Bush, January 29, 2002:

"Iran aggressively pursues these weapons and exports terror... States like these, and their terrorist allies, constitute an axis of evil, arming to threaten the peace of the world. By seeking weapons of mass destruction, these regimes pose a grave and growing danger. They could provide these arms to terrorists, giving them the means to match their hatred. They could attack our allies or attempt to blackmail the United States. In any of these cases, the price of indifference would be catastrophic.

We will work closely with our coalition to deny terrorists and their state sponsors the materials, technology, and expertise to make and deliver weapons of mass destruction. We will develop and deploy effective missile defenses to protect America and our allies from sudden attack. And all nations should know: America will do what is necessary to ensure our nation's security.

We'll be deliberate, yet time is not on our side. I will not wait on events, while dangers gather. I will not stand by, as peril draws closer and closer. The United States of America will not permit the world's most dangerous regimes to threaten us with the world's most destructive weapons.

Our war on terror is well begun, but it is only begun. This campaign may not be finished on our watch -- yet it must be and it will be waged on our watch."

You are a liar, George W. Bush. Neither you nor your front-line leaders -- Rice, Gates, Chertoff -- have the competence or the courage or the integrity to carry out your bold proclamation. Instead, you busy yourself with ensuring an invasion of foreigners, among them terrorists, that will forever change the way of life of the American people, and not for the better!. You have sold America itself for the mere promise of thirty pieces of Mexican silver. You should be ashamed.

Iran knows that our politicians are too busy attacking each other to do anything about their meddling in Iraq. The left has neutered the president’s war fighting capability with their never ending attacks against him. President Bush hasn’t helped the situation by alienating his supporters with his treasonous amnesty plan. This wouldn’t be happening if our representatives put the good of the country ahead of their own selfish agendas.

That's silly.

The CIC is not neutered. Any President can order any/all US Military forces to undertake any/all action for a 60 day period without Congressional approval. That includes nuclear weapons.

It would be easy to destroy Iran's current regime in 60 days from "go" considering the forces currently in the Gulf and the air assets that could be mustered in the 60 day period.

It makes about as much sense as nominating another CFR, State-Dept.-advising, third-world-favoring puppet of Liberaltarians, who has no experience usable for winning a world war.

I’ll write Duncan Hunter in on election day.
