Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces have been spotted by British troops crossing the border into southern Iraq, The Sun tabloid reported on Tuesday.
Britain's defence ministry would not confirm or deny the report, with a spokesman declining to comment on "intelligence matters".
An unidentified intelligence source told the tabloid: "It is an extremely alarming development and raises the stakes considerably. In effect, it means we are in a full on war with Iran -- but nobody has officially declared it."
"We have hard proof that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps have crossed the border to attack us. It is very hard for us to strike back. All we can do is try to defend ourselves. We are badly on the back foot."
The Sun said that radar sightings of Iranian helicopters crossing into the Iraqi desert were confirmed to it by very senior military sources.
In response to the report, a British defence ministry spokesman said: "There is evidence that explosive devices used against our troops in southern Iraq originated in Iran."
"Any Iranian link to armed militias in Iraq either through weapons supply, training or funding are unacceptable."
Britain has about 7,100 soldiers in Iraq, most of whom are based in the southern city of Basra and surrounding areas, though the government has pledged to reduce that to between 5,000 and 5,500 this year.

Touch a nerve, did we? What are you talking about? I am trying to have a conversation here but it's obviously a waste of time. See you on some other thread.

If and when I ever see a column of Iranian tanks reported by the USAF entering Iraq then I will show some concern. By then it may be too late!

Exactly, talking does nada for brainwashed islamofascists.

Just a casual observation, but you seem rather tense. You responded to an obviously humorous/sarcastic comment with a high level of irritation. If you can't laugh, then just ignore..and have a nice day :)

What the heck is wrong with you? Someone cracks wise to have a little fun, and you get your panties in a wad. Go to ebay and see if you can purchase a sense of humor.

We should get affirmatives soon on this one. I continue to think the regular Iranian military must be getting very unerved over how the scum bags are running the country into the ground as well as pissing the US off to the point they could be in for real hard times.
I would not be the lest surprised if deals have not been worked out for us to not target some of the regular army, airforce installations, and just go after everything that would harbor any of the revolutionary guards, and of course the nuclear and things related industrial sites etc..
Ahmadinejah and his masters are sure pushing the limits.
The damn fools are well... damn fools.

I was in San Diego last week. The only carrier in was one in a long term yard period. The other 4 were no where to be seen.

“It is very hard for us to strike back.”
Huh?
To: elhombrelibre
If this is true we are in a difficult situation.
The Irainians are going for the Southern oil but more importantly the Shatt Al Arab port at Umm Oasr. Basra and the British are toast.
We failed to understand the dynamic between Shia and Sunni ( they attacked the WTC — not the Shia). The Shia now see a weak and unstable Iraq and we are hugely out numbered. The Shia will rise up to support the Iranian Ayatollas . The Iranians have 1 million under arms including a 50,000 man air force and a 20,000 man nay. ( notice I said “man” ) The Shia represent 62% of the Iraq population ( approximately 18 million) Iran has 63 million. Kuwait is entitely Shia!! If this invasion is true you may run to get oil in your car tomorrow and stock up on food because gasoline will go to $10 a gallon over night.Shia hate Sunni equal with infidels. I pray in the name of Jesus this report is not true.
