Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., said Sunday he believes a second try at immigration reform will pass and will garner "good support" among Republicans. The reason it will pass with GOP support is the bill is "tough, fair and practical, Kennedy said on ABC's" This Week with George Stephanopoulous." Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, said earlier, however, he didn't think the measure would pass. The legislation contains $4.4 billion for beefing up border security and is tough on worksite enforcement, Kennedy said.
"And finally, we will have a tamper-proof card to make sure that we can really have an effective immigration policy," Kennedy said. The bill also is fair, he said. "It says to the undocumented here, you are going to go to the back of the line for all of those that are waiting to come to the United States who have been playing by the rules, you go to the back of the line." Yes, there are critics who say the bill would hurt Americans and legal immigrants, Kennedy said, "but there is recognition in this country that doing nothing ... is not an alternative. The problem is going to get worse."
Yeah, and Ted Kennedy expected to cross the Chappaquiddick bridge too!

Teddy Kennedy gets his info at the bottom of a thick bottle.
“A Bridge Too Far”.
Tough on tax payers, fair to none and practical for those dependent on sub-wage schemes. I once picked a lot of those off of me after trekking through a swamp.
This tamper-proof card will work no better than a drunk-proof bridge.
You’ve got that about right but it’s more crypto. The first bill he was all on top of wasn’t even for public consideration or viewing and when it was it was a disgrace. They think we are all wore out discussing this shamnesty. In fact many are. That is why there is importance in new warriors getting involved who are no stranger to adversity. Be sure whatever giveaways go to illegals will come out of Mil programs then the old farts. Anything Ted likes is wrong and set the pattern hisself.
A Bridge Too Far... to the right.
Teddy must be off his Prozac again.
They didn’t have Ambien back then, huh?
Not sure how Scotch would mix with it?
and ... don’t want to know. ;-)
Do you believe Congress should scrap the amnesty legislation and focus instead on securing our borders?
Yes
No

Email the staffs of your Senators, and tell them how you feel about the Immigration AMNESTY Bill. Send this link to your friends and ask them to email also.

I heard they lost Gorden Smith from Oregon. How could it pass when they lose a rino like that.
Ted was blissfully unaware he was about to cross that bridge over Poocha Pond. He was simply trying to get to somewhere where he could yank his pants down, and no objection could be heard within ten miles.
Kennedy has built a whole career on writting immigration bills full of intentional loopholes and glaring half measures then declaring them ‘Broken’.
He then campaigns on the need to pass more laws to fix the half-arsed bill he previously authored.
The only thing more idiotic than that is the fact that foolish democrat voters keep returning him to the Senate to do more damage to the country.
My Email to Kyl and McCain: Under the Title: No on Illegal Immigration Bill!
Senator,
You may be able to factually say this bill is not “amnesty” but it matters not. It gives a path to citizenship to those who have circumvented the system, and it sells it at a very low price.
What matters is that the problem will continue unabated, regardless of your words or so-called “triggers”.
The Z Visas need no “triggers” and there will be millions of them handed out. The punishment for overstaying a Z Visa will be met with more of the same “We can’t deport them all”, they’ll end up “living in the shadows”. What we will really do is extend them, or give up altogether. You know it, I know it, and every Mexican family planning to make the trek northward knows it.
If you think that it’s immoral or vigilante to oppose this bill, and if you also agree with Sen. Graham that it’s just a case of certain rednecks thinking that “Mexicans need not apply”, you’ve got to be fooling yourself.
If a Mexican family dies in the desert this summer, in haste to get here for the huge freebee this bill is handing out, do you not think you bear any responsibility for that? I think you do. I think it’s immoral, both to your office, the family, and to the American public.
Be that as it may, I think the Z Visa farce is something you’ll shove down our throats anyway, at some point in the process. But, if we can’t stop it, at least postpone the gravy train until after the flood has stopped. I’m pretty certain that I speak with the majority when I say, you must secure the border! And no, I don’t mean 70 miles of vehicle berms, I mean 2000 miles of real fence, or whatever it takes. If you cannot do this, we will BECOME Mexico.(I don’t mean Mexican, which is a people I like very much, I mean Mexico, literally) I can’t believe that you just don’t get that.
Finally, if you don’t close the border, then all the rest is smoke and mirrors, and it is exactly the status quo you pretend to be trying to fix.
