Sounds like the “they owe us” mentality.
If Dan, or even any honest state officials, elected or otherwise were to investigate the land grabbing racket being worked between "Not-for-Profit" CONservancy/Land Trust NGO's and the CA Fish & Game's Real Estate arm, we could not only stop the state from ripping off local governments property tax revenues, we could stop grants that are approaching billions to purchase land from these CON men at CONservancies at super inflated appraised values while tormenting the local landowners into becoming coerced "willing sellers" to stop development which further hurts local economies!!!
It is so vast, that like the story Dan tells, you have to lay it all out with time lines because all us dumb, unaware taxpayers won't ever believe it unless pictures are drawn. Even then, the problems are so complex and vast, that it just overwhelms people's minds! It's like trying to drink from a firehose nozzle!!!
It won't be long before Snortsinaygur's Sierra-Nevada CONservancy (an actual state government agency!) will be facilitating more and more of this activity just like the Santa Monica Mountains CONservancy and the Tahoe CONservancy (also now state agencies with state employees on the payroll with big pensions and retiree health insurance, etc., etc.) and these are just a few of these entrenched institutions in our CA GovernMental EnvironMental menagerie!!!
If the McClathchys consider both the Austrian and Walters conservatives, one can only imagine the future of California if the family had its way.

Good call. Range is even more informative than Lamb's eco-logic Power House. Its the best choice; if you were to subscribe to only one magazine, Range should be it.
