Troops from Walter Reed at Shea Stadium

Over the PA system at Shea Stadium, they announced that there were soldiers from Walter Reed Army Medical Center in attendance. I couldn't tell where they were seated, but I was certainly happy they were there. They played a nice thing on their screen thanking the soldiers for the freedom we enjoy. It was a pretty cool afternoon.
The not-so-cool part was waking up on the Metro North with a pounding headache.

Glad the Mets obliged the troops with some artillery of their own.

wastedyears - Thanks for the post. By the way, who played and besides the soldiers, who else were winners?
D.C. Chapter Ping List - Great news.
Looks like our Walter Reed wounded warriors getting some more recognition and appreciation.

The Mets beat the pants off the Oakland Athletics by a score of 10 - 2.
Jose Reyes’ first at-bat, he scored an in-park home run thanks to a beautiful error, I don’t know by whom.
They had some nice things on the screen thanking our soldiers for their service, but I already said that.

Sounds like an exciting time for the troops. Nothing is worst than going to a ball game and having a low score. Thanks.
