Apart from the political junkies I doubt the ordinary folkes are that interested in the article and I suspect the only people that probably watch Cspan are political junkies on both sides.
snugs, you are right about people who watch C-Span, but I’m gonna guess that conservatives who watch are genuine political junkies, but that many of the liberals, judging by the callers, are paid operatives working from the democrat playbook who are reading the spin of the day.
Many of the democrat callers don’t sound smart enough to know who their own senators are.
It's our job (the new media) to catch these things and explain it to the "great unwashed" so that they don't make their decisions in the intellectual vacuum created by the DBMs lies. That's not a snarky comment, that's really how I see what it is we are doing. We've got to get better at it than we are, though we've already had a major impact on the entire system (witness DiFi and Trent ganging up to try to silence us) but this here is the beginning of the next 100 years of political discourse and we're a big part of it (if we can just avoid fratricide).
