That depends on whether the brain and the information it stores is the same as consciousness and the soul.

They're not, otherwise an Excel spreadsheet would be a person, the AI idiots at MIT notwithstanding.

Just look at what is happening to the bees in locations where there have been large plantings of genetically engineered crops. The bees die off.

Wow! I hadn't made that correlation. Do you have any citations?

Scientists are presuming a lot when they think that messing with one gene affects only one characteristic. There’s no way we know enough about genetics that we can say we know all the functions one gene has.

You forget that they're smarter than God.

At least they think they are.

The human race is deteriorating at an alarming rate.

I know I am!

Note that almost all of the ancient civilizations were warrior/conqueror societies that practiced slavery and genocide. The less fit, low IQ people got killed or did not have many offspring that survived. Another form of eugenics at work.

"So when science starts extending our life spans to 700 years will you attribute it to goodness?"

Science has yet to extend life one minute, so let's not hold our breath. The people who live the longest are still those whose lives are devoid of any "modern technology."

Did you by any chance mean “parts is parts?”

Well, sure, but in the end he did take over the planet and establish a "one world Socialist government" and placed himself as "God" on "Olympus".

If you can just get past that part, he's pretty ok. ; )

LOL!

That was really a well done series. Collecting the releases were a complete pain, though. Never consistent. Got them, though...

LOL you really are funny. So you don't think that antibiotics or vaccines have saved any lives? Do you go to a dentist? Or a Doctor?

" Do you go to a dentist? Or a Doctor?"

No, I respect my body too much to take that risk.

"So you don't think that antibiotics or vaccines have saved any lives?"

Antibiotics may appear to arrest an infection, but the destruction of the immune system caused by the antibiotic often causes death later on. Vaccines harm young children constantly. They cause "sudden crib death," and are logically implicated in autism, sudden deafness, or blindness, and are one of the causes of dyslexia. Wonderful stuff.

True, but unlike the real world the average schmuck was able to get a god-like power upgrade (as long as s/he passed the mental exam).

That was really a well done series. Collecting the releases were a complete pain, though. Never consistent. Got them, though...

I cheated and just have the graphic novel collection, not the individual issues. I thought it got a bit dull after the showdown with Kid Marvelman. Ah well, I'm an "origins" type of fan, not an "issue-to-issue" type of fan.
