Yes, but they are still Christians. The question was whether they'd be MORMONS if they didn't jump thru the right hoops.
You admitted their are certain requirements TO BE CALLED AN LDS MEMBER; so why is it so hard for you to figure out there are CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS to be called a CHRISTIAN??
Your organization VEHEMETLY disavows those who call themselves MORMON, yet still practice polygamy.
Why?
Do they not BELIEVE exactly like the REST of the LDS members do??
What POSSIBLE grounds does headquarters have for saying, "They are NOT LDS'!"
You Said: You admitted their are certain requirements TO BE CALLED AN LDS MEMBER; so why is it so hard for you to figure out there are CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS to be called a CHRISTIAN??
Christian is a faith, like Buddhist, Moslem or Taoist. Mormon is a Church, like Baptist, Methodist or Catholic. Baptists, Methodists, Catholics and Mormons are all Christian, because they believe Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior, in short, they have faith in Christ, that makes them Christian.
Buddhists, have four major denominations that I know of, Muslims Suni, Shia, and Whabbists that I know of. Taoist, I lost count, but there are lots. Christianity is the only religion I have seen where one group says not only are you "wrong" you are lying about what you believe, you don't really believe in Christ.
It's kind of funny actually, simply because it's so silly, how in the name of all that is funny would you know exactly what I or anyone else believe? (You don't unless I / We tell you) then you tell us we are wrong, ROTFLOL, then you wonder why no one outside of this little religion fight takes you guys seriously
As to not calling people Mormons, well, they aren't, they can still be Christians, They can even call them selves Mormonists, if they profess a belief in Mormon, or Smithists because they profess a belief in Joseph Smith. How do you think Calvanists and Baptists got their names?
There are indeed certain requirements to be called a Christian, Jesus set those requirements not some council of men.
Read Matthew 10:32-33 32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
So, if we confess him, and I for one do, then he will call us his, what else is there, but to obey his commandments because we believe on his name?
