Would you simplify that list to those
martyrs who were armed and attacked
during their martyrdom please? I couldn’t
determine that from your posting.

“AMPU, a martyr is a person who chooses to suffer or die rather than give up his faith or his principles”

This presumes that a person was going to suffer
or die for what they believed, versus being dealt
rough justice for trying to demand other’s wives
and denying other’s First Amendment Rights.

Sorry, different. The fact Smith had no conscience
about what he had done says volumes about his
character.

You can sleep well tonight. Mitt Romney would never appoint me to any position in his administration. Ha!

Mitt will be VERY leery of appointing any Mormons to high positions. His religion is enough in the limelight and unless there is not another person equally qualified, he will simply not do that.

This is the reason Huntsman Jr. is supporting McCain and not Romney. Huntsman has bigger aspirations than just Gov. I have this info from a former staffer of Huntsman.

“OOOH, I love multiple choice. But you left off the last one, and the one that some 13 million chose for their test.”

... you do realize that more than 13 million
choose Jehovah’s Witness truth - another
cult America gave to the world. So numbers
mean nothing as a basis of truth.

So what you are saying is that the “13 million” mormon member
number is bogus?

anyone know what's up with Genesis 15:17?

Why wasn't the sacrifice consumed in fire as per usual? Why was it divided like that?

Good question. Perhaps this reference can shed further light:

Jer. 34:

18 And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts thereof,
19 The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;

If the evidences of the bible are so fundamental to your faith, why is the world not beating down the doors to join Christendom? It was never intended to be that way.

Ah, so we have a tie that is several centuries old. Isn’t that amazing.

But being a descendant of the Mayflower doesn’t make us any more American than if our parents had immigrated (legally).

Every natural born citizen of the United States is evey bit as American as the next, right?

Just to offer a small caution to you, apologist

I think this is your new mantra, calling us apologists, at least the last few hundred posts of yours do that. That's fine, do what you will, and caution all you can. It makes no difference. I know in whom I have trusted, the Lord Jesus Christ, and I make no apologies for worshiping Him as my God and my King.

Incidentally, apologist, my grandfather was a Freemason. I distinctly recall him telling me and one of my cousins present when I asked him about God that he was a deist, that Jesus was a real man, and really God in the flesh, and that Jesus has built a doorway through which all who entered Heaven had to go by His usher. He told us that we had to come to grips with this Jesus during our lifetime, individually, just as he had in his lifetime. He ended that lesson by telling us he hoped to see us someday on the other side of that special doorway. By the Grace of God in Christ, I'm looking forward to that day. I know my Pawpaw's smile will be broad and welcoming. The older I get the closer I get. Thanks be to God! BTW, a significant portion of the founding fathers and mothers were Episcopalians.

Great post, Your grandfather sounds like a wonderful man, Freemason and all. And again, yes I am an apologist, and will continue to be, so label me all you want.

Mitt's wife Ann was also an Episcopalian before joining the LDS Church, btw.

You post this long epigraph on Freemasonry without citing the link from which you lifted the material, and you make zero comment upon the reason for your long post. You're becoming a parody of Delphi User; where are your I said / You said entries? Bwahahaha

Here ya go:

Wasn't it you who accused me a few months ago of deceitfully being one and the same as Delphi? Bahahahaha right back!

Got you all beat... ; )

I can trace my ancestors back to folks who greeted the first French explorers to the Great Lakes region...

They were here before the Mayflower was a ship.

I might be more apt to believe them and you if they would actually publish records of how many “faithful” members attend services or pay tithes (both of which are required by Freeper LDS members in order to be considered Mormon)

You didn't mention that persons who were baptized LDS and whom are unable to be found by the church records department are carried on the rolls as "members" until they reach the age of 109. Of course, we all know that mormons are very long-lived.

LOL! Long lived because of their Word of Wisdom. They are soooooo much better than the rest of us. Just ask them. ;-)

There IS room for doubt. Especially since unlike most churches, a member can't just say "I quit" and be taken off the rolls...they must either resign formally or be excommunicated. As in the case of my family members, they simply don't bother.

Also see post #2154.

I think this is your new mantra, calling us apologists

Since we have been labeled anything from "anti-mormon" to "bashers" and worse, why do you find the apologist label offensive"?

From Wikipedia, Christian apologetics is the field of study concerned with the systematic defense of Christianity. The term "apologetic" comes from the Greek word apologia, which means in defense of; therefore a person involved in Christian or Bible Apologetics is a defender of Christianity.

Wikipedia

I suppose we COULD find a label that is similar to the ones used against us.
