Fred Thompson is set to announce that Nashville will be the home of his national campaign headquarters, WSMV is reporting.

A source close to the campaign planning tells WSMV that that Thompson planned to announce his candidacy on the steps of the historic Fall School Building Tuesday, but Thompson campaign officials deny that Tuesday's announcement is an official run for the White House.

>Again, you prove assuredly ~ that “age” don’t mean”maturity.”<

(Shakes head, sighing) “Youth” apparently ‘don’t’ mean fun, either.

And I didn’t bash your candidate anymore than say, Jay Leno does. Nor have I called any one of you Fredheads any names, like you all are so quick to do. But then I must remember, paranoids always project their faults upon others.

I did? Did you? Do you still? And what does all this have to do with my #54?

I don’t believe that is right. They dated for several years before marrying.

Ok now listen here PaperTiger...errrr...PaperDoll

Just answer me this:

How are you going to justify your digs at Thompson when he picks Hunter for his VP, and then is the Republican Candidate for President. Huh, huh?

That being said, you seem to have a good sense of humor and I still wonder which leg?

It appears that the report which started this thread may ALSO in error.

From www.redstate.com:

...I just got off the phone with a trusted friend and source very close to the Fred Thompson campaign who responded,
"Absolutely, unequivocally, definitely no"
when I asked if Fred would be announcing on Tuesday.

He concluded,

"They're wrong. That's not happening next week."

Or not.

From www.palmettoscoop.com:

By The Editor | June 22, 2007 - 6:31 pm - Posted in Misc.

WSMV-TV Nashville has just broken the news that former Sen. Fred Thompson (R-Tenn.) will formally toss his hat in the ring in the GOP presidential race at a press conference scheduled for next Tuesday.

Thompson will also base his national campaign headquarters in Nashville, WSMV is reporting.

A source close to the campaign planning said the announcement will come this Tuesday, June 26, on the steps of the historic Fall School building. WSMV has confirmed that the Thompson campaign has obtained the lease for that building to turn it into a national campaign office headquarters.

“Everything’s in place for Tuesday,” the source said. “There are three major events built around his announcement.”

The source also told WSMV that Thompson will be in Nashville Tuesday for a series of meetings with his top advisers, and that those meetings will culminate with the announcement at the school building.

Thompson organization officials did not immediately return calls for comment.

The Fall School is Nashville’s oldest still-standing school building. It currently houses office space, including a local office for U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander. [WSMV-TV]
