McConnell isn't sure he wants to be a clay pigeon?

It doesn’t matter if he is unsure how to vote on the bill itself. This is just him trying to cover his butt. Once the cloture vote happens, and he has said that he would vote for cloture, he will vote noa dnit will pass anyway. It must be killed on the cloture vote or it will be crammed through.

McConnell is "not riding two horses, he's trying to decide which horse to ride," Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., a bill supporter, said in an interview. "He has a very difficult role, with the caucus so badly split. He has a duty to represent the caucus."

We already know what horse old Arlen choose to ride, and Mitch is seeing Arlen getting bucked around and thrown to the ground, soon to be trampled....maybe Mitch is just a wee bit smarter to choose his horse after the race is obviously lost by the OBL horse. Hedging his bet so to speak.

I contact his office every day with reminders that when he is up for reelection next year he's going to need people to knock on doors and make telephone calls. If he votes for the shamnesty, I know one family of 5 that won't be working for him.

Our other senator, Jim Bunning, sent me an acknowledgement yesterday, it began: "Thank you for contacting me with your concerns about the so-called compromise immigration reform bill. I agree with you, and I oppose the bill".

It's nice to know he read my e-mail and is capable of giving a direct answer to a question.

The only thing deeply flawed about the “current situation” is that Congress and POTUS will not ENFORCE THE LAWS.

If McConnell votes yes on cloture then no on the final bill as it still passes then he hasn't fooled anyone, despite what he thinks.

Vote no on cloture and kill the bill.

Doublethink: “The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them. ... To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just so long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies—all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth.”

I may be that KY people aren’t calling that much to McC for they think illegals is an issue in the border states with Mexico and not the old border states of North and South.

Mitch had better decide right, if he wants to stay in congress.

Let me help you make up your mind Senator. A large majority of those who put you in office rabidly and rightly oppose this written by imbeciles amnesty bill. Do you represent them or the invaders? Is your responsibility toward the USA or Mexico? Do you prefer bourbon or tequila?

I just called McConnell’s office in Louisville (for the 4th time) and they are starting to get a little snippy. As in, what business does a member of the great unwashed such as myself know about this stuff?

She said he wasn’t riding the fence, that he was listening to all the debate before deciding. I told her politely that 100 amendments wouldn’t make this bill anything other than what it was. You can call a pig fried chicken but that doesn’t make it so. I finished with “I am very disappointed with the Senator and I have a very long memory”.

Those states that allow recall elections should look into recalling the senators that are pro amnesty.
