NAACP Leader Resigns From Jefferson Group
New Orleans Congressman Indicted On Federal Charges
UPDATED: 12:35 pm CDT June 21, 2007

NEW ORLEANS -- The president of the local NAACP is stepping down from the Justice for Jefferson Committee.

Danatus King said his professional, civic and personal obligations don't give him enough time to be an effective member of the group, which supports indicted U.S. Rep. William Jefferson.

King said he continues to stand behind the effort to ensure that Jefferson receives a fair trial.

Jefferson was indicted in early June on 16 federal charges, including money laundering and racketeering.

16 felonies maybe a bit too much for the race crowd...

Ewwww - and don't forget - Tracie Washington, a civil rights lawyer, described the prosecution of Jefferson as possibly the work "of a Machiavellian twist of Karl Rove and his sinister band of Brownshirts."

OH PULEEEEEEZE!!! A fair trial? What does he think is going to happen? Does he think the KKK is going to spring him out of jail and lynch him?

Is anyone as sick of this crap as I am?

Uh....has there been even on single rational explanation of why an intelligent congress critter would need to have $90,000 in his freezer?

Or....has there been even one single rational explanation of why others involved in the same “incident” for which this congress critter received cash - have already pleaded GUILTY?

In addition.....why have the Democrats who made a huge show out of attacking the Republicans as the party of corruption, not yet asked this congress critter to step down until his name is cleared? I KNOW the reason to that — the Democrats don’t have that requirement, as do the Republicans... But, I would like to know why..

Anyone still believe all cultures are equal?
Anyone still believe congress critters can be trusted to do the right thing?
Anyone else think were long overdue to “hang” a few of the bastards in front of the Capital Building?

Does he think the KKK is going to spring him out of jail and lynch him?

Logically that has to happen after incarceration preceeded by a guilty verdict predisposed of a "fair trial" encased in civil unrest pronounced by partisan reporting.

Then they spring him.

“Danatus King said his professional, civic and personal obligations don’t give him enough time to be an effective member of the group, which supports indicted U.S. Rep. William Jefferson.”

Too bad it wasn’t simply a bad conscience.

Oh, well, there will be enough professional minorities to replace him, and no doubt The Other Billy Jeff will move to have the trial in DC, where exoneration is guaranteed.
