There was no hearts and minds, or infrastructure rebuilding efforts, during this particular engagement.

Everything was leveled.

It sure does look good. They’ll have many more challenges I’m sure. They’re certainly fighting the good fight with our common foe.

I am genuinly impressed. The Lebanese Army will become an awesome military force when trained and equipped state-of-the-art with US help (as was promised).

Imagine what our Military could do when unleashed...

Israel’s reprisal attack last year IMO was a success.
It has enabled Lebanon to move forward. Give them, W and the UN credit.

Give (...) the UN credit.

No. What for exatly? What has the UN achieved or done, except assisting Hezbullah?

Well, time will tell. I agree, but I doubt if a lot of other people would.

I don’t have much respect for the
UN, but didn't they, French and Russians included go into
Lebanon as part of the truce?

Which is good why? The UN (especially France and Russia) are siding with Hezbullah, helping them rebuild and disrupt the Israelis. The UN should leave Lebanon immediately. Israel needs a new leadership and resume the destruction of Hezbullah, the way the Lebanese Army did. Which means total destruction of Hezbullah. No

Assad’s buttbuddy Chirac is no longer the president of France.

Which is good why? They support the Lebanese gov and Army by their physical presence.
The UN (especially France and Russia) are siding with Hezbullah, helping them rebuild and disrupt the Israelis. Where do you ever get such nonsense? Do you have facts, links, or just hatred?
The UN should leave Lebanon immediately. Israel needs a new leadership and resume the destruction of Hezbullah, the way the Lebanese Army did. Israel did it's part, and now the Lebanese Army are doing their's. Do you have any idea the cost and loss of life it would take to totally invade Lebanon, uucp it, and then ferret out Hezbullah and kill them? GET REAL
Which means total destruction of Hezbullah. Israel can defend itself well, but is not capable of invading on a larger scale. Just look at what's gone on in Gaza and the West Bank.

Quit picking on the new Russia and new France, we need all the friends we can get. Yes?

You are either knowingly closing your eyes or you are ridiculously misinformed. Frankly... I am appalled by your statements.

Now let's go through each point:

France:

France threatens to shoot down Israelis

France authorizes troops to shoot down Israelis

France disrupting Israeli overflights

Chirac refuses to label Hezbullah terrorists

Russia:

Hezbullah receives Russian intelligence

Russia sullies Hezbullah with weapons

The Russia-Iran-Hezbullah triangle

Russia supports HAMAS

Russian-Iranian nuke deal

Russia arms Iran

Russian arms trade to Iran

Russia prepares Iran for war against US

Russia arms and equips Syria

Syria to receive Russian fighters

Hamas, Hezbullah not on Russian (and European) list of terrorists

Not to forget that Russia opposes US Missile shields against Iran and North Korea...

GET REAL

I advise you to get some books on history. Look what real wars look like. Let the civilians in S-Lebanon flee to the North or Syria and then start flattening the whole Area with carpet bombing, artillery barrage and every conventional weapon at disposal. Assassinate Hezbullah and Hamas leaders wherever they pop up. Tell the media to go to hell. Occupy the Southern Lebanon and kill every Hezbullahi who pops up. Remember World War II and fight a war of attrition. Look how the Lebanese Army fought the Al-Qaeda militants in the refugee camp. They fought WW2 style, though with inferior weapons than Israel.

Israel can defend itself well, but is not capable of invading on a larger scale. Just look at what's gone on in Gaza and the West Bank.

Lol! Israel is very well capable of totally annihilating the terrorist scum in Gaza and the West Bank, if they wouldn't hamstring themselves by trying not to offend world opinion, the media and avoiding civilian casualties.

Quit picking on the new Russia and new France

New Russia? Are you joking or do you have an agenda? The "new" Russia is a neo-Soviet, totalitarian, police-state run by a KGB-thug who arms and props up terrorists and anti-American dictators all over the World, killing dissidents and blackmailing it's neighbors. You may have missed it, but Russia is reintroducing the Soviet flag for the Army and using the Soviet anthem again. Putin is our enemy.

France has a long history of opposing the USA and supporting Arab tyrants against the US. I have hope that under Sarkozy, there may be indeed a new France, which supports us, so we have to wait and see. Chirac was an anti-semitic, anti-American worm. Yes I hate him. There you go...

we need all the friends we can get. Yes?

With such "friends", who needs enemies?
