The good Senator doesn’t lie about everything — this is a true statement. That he claims the misinformation is coming from other than the supporters of amnesty is dishonest, of course. So, at some level he’s honest, just not honest enough for me.

Even if they passed this nightmare, they’ll pay for it at the polls. If enough Senators have a smidgeon of sense and deny it cloture, they still lose. Kyl’s reputation as a conservative stalwart is in tatters. he’ll never rebuild that trust. neither will McCain or Lott for anyone that actually still respected those two.

Let’s hope they have lost, and when the dust clears we will know where everyone stands. This is like a shake out, a time of choosing sides, and Sen. Kyl has attacked his allies, probably needlessly. He’s joined those who’ve picked the fight, and now the volume should be turned up, both on talk radio and from our candidates.

I am beginning to think you are right and my guess is the guru of Bush almost getting beat by kerry and the 2006 election debacle where Rove/Bush ran people against incumbents in the primary because the incumbents were against illegal immigration is the culprit. Heard he has been arm twisting and threatening according to some sources and it is not working with a lot of Senators.
