You wanna get REALLY depressed? Look at the composition of the Iraqi government we are propping up. I never knew it was possible to "fight terrorism" by propping up the Jihadist of the DAWA party....., you know, the group that worked with Hizbollah (actually, helped birth Hizbollah in Lebanon) to blow up the US Marine Corps barracks.
Just makes me feel like a PATRIOT to be fighting terror like that. Wrap myself in a flag, turn off my reasoning and watch lugubrious photos of 9.11. Thank God for this administration. I have seen first hand how to morph a legitimate, needed war effort (overthrow Hussein) into a nationbuilding bureacratic empire which openly coddles the people we are theoretically trying to kill.
Dimwitted decerebrates on one side the aisle mewl nonsense about the loss of liberty being worth it because it is "for the children" and the other group (mirror images of each other, in my opinion, just different issues), defend the US evolving into a never ending war machine because we are fighting a "WAR ON TERROR"
Just never mind that we are keeping in power those who deliberately murdered US Marines in Lebanon, and who supported Shi'ite militia who openly attack our military now. If you question the wisdom of such asinine foolishness, then you advocate that we "cut and run" and we can't have that, can we?
Anything could be used by anybody to justify anything. Especially if you have a Clintonesque Type A personality.
But the fact is that we shouldn't leave Iraq totally to the Iraqis until Al Queda has been destroyed to such a degree that they cannot threaten the US. It's not just an Iraqi matter.
I’m not sure what you’re thanking me for, but you’re welcome.
????
Your FR name is the answer to this. Also as long as we aren't nuking Saudi Arabia into oblivion, the only alternative to the Saudi royals would be Al-Qaeda.
A no-brainer.
Don’t underestimate the power of the message of hate. When mothers are proud that their sons have been suicide bombers, you know you’re up against a rock.
(Gold Star Mothers?)
Very sad ping...
An Old Soldier's Prayer 06/20/2005 I have fought when others feared to serve. I have gone where others failed to go. I've lost friends in war and strife, Who valued Duty more than love of life. I have shared the comradeship of pain. I have searched the lands for men that we have lost. I have sons who served this land of liberty, Who would fight to see that other stricken lands are free. I have seen the weak forsake humanity. I have heard the traitors praise our enemy. I've seen challenged men become even bolder, I've seen the Duty, Honor, Sacrifice of the Soldier. Now I understand the meaning of our lives, The loss of comrades not so very long ago. So to you who have answered duties siren call, May God bless you my son, may God bless you all.

“A no-brainer.”
Really? Saudi money is funding the growth of Islam in the US. Not as dramatic as 9-11, but of far more lasting effect.
Whoever reports..it’s a damn shame....i think it
is time to either play this war out to win, and
that means ..spare nobody...our troops can clean-up
after we blast them...JK
Tracing back through the thread, looks like it might be friendly fire. Sorry.
No amount of progress will ever satisfy the defeatists. As far as they’re concerned, Rumsfeld messed it up....war’s over, Bush sucks.
Good. So we both agree that the war should be extended... to Saudi-Arabia, Iran and Syria? When American soldiers start dying there, would you yell to blow it off aswell?
Gold Star Mothers = Terrorist Mothers?
Wow, you are one sick mother #####.
Take your horse**** someplace else.
“But the fact is that we shouldn’t leave Iraq totally to the Iraqis until Al Queda has been destroyed to such a degree that they cannot threaten the US. It’s not just an Iraqi matter.”
Have we found, in Iraq, the well that is the source of Al Queda’s existence?
If you’re talking about our presence there, then maybe we have.
See ya.
We didn’t take any casualties in Hiroshima or Nagasaki.
Nuke Iran.
The offensive or any offensive in Iraq is a stupid waste of time. The problem is coming from Iran into Iraq. The Bush doctrine of being afraid of Iran is killing our troops in Iraq.

Good riddance to him.
